Haha! Soup can be incredibly good for you. The nutrients go into whatever they are cooked in, so if cooked a long time, most nutrients are in the broth. I think PTX pretty much just thinks in song!

"Dude on the piano" = long-time PTX arranger Ben Bram, sometimes known as the "sixth member of Pentatonix." He has been their arranger since The Sing Off and is also a good friend. Broil = cooking something over hot coals or even low flames, usually on a grill. Boil = cooking something in a pot in water/liquid that is heated to boiling or (BETTER) a simmer (when little bubbles come up continuously, instead of big huge bubbles coming up unevenly and violently). As noted by others, when you boil/simmer something, a lot of (water-soluble) nutrients go into the liquid. If you have a cold or other upper-respiratory infection that affects your sinuses and throat, a thin soup made with onions and garlic (like classic chicken noodle) is actually very helpful: you get some nutrition from the broth (liquid) and the onion/garlic helps promote beneficial mucous flow to ease the affected membranes.

I love this video & great reaction...by the by, you are right about losing nutritional benefits the longer you cook something, but soup benefits you by warming your internal body temp which can stave off some virus' & soups with salt or spice can help ease soar throats. It's more medicinal then nutritional!
