I don’t understand why some parents think they have to explain gay sex to children. As a kid (30+ years ago) I overheard my mom say some man was gay and I asked what that meant. She said, it means he likes boys instead of girls. It’s really as simple as that.

OMG. Robert. I was IN DISNEY WORLD--IN EPCOT--INSIDE DISNEY WORLD STANDING ON DISNEY PROPERTY. Actually, sitting, because let's be honest, sometimes you need to sit down in Disney. This woman and her friend, older women, came up and asked if they could share the bench with me and I said of course. We start chatting and she tells me that she's a little mad at Disney right now. I asked why. "Well, they're putting gay characters in the movies and I just don't think children should be exposed to that." I blinked at her. "So I just don't want to support Disney anymore." I blinked at her again. I looked around. I said, "You realize that you are IN Disney World right now, right?" That goes for both sides. I lost count pre-Trump of how many times liberals called me racist/homophobic/bigot/nazi. I'm none of those things. I don't hate anyone except my abusive father, and even then, I don't put any energy into it. There's hate and intolerance on both sides of the political spectrum, and honestly, videos like this just make is worse.

mind you, purple lighting has always been used in a fantasy context. it's like ethereal lighting, and pink is also a cool mix to it if the fantasy is a bit romantic or you want to make it an "enchanting feeling". this is literally something we study in filmschool, like blue and purple are usually used in "dreams" as well. if there's a place that should be using these colours it's disney 😭😭 edit: i also think this feeling of "we can't use this now! it's for the gays! they took it!" is because they're probably like this with us (The GaysTM), they exclude us so they think we want to do the same to them haha

Very true. I said in my comment earlier that those colors are often colors Disney uses in their films. It's also used in a lot of fantasy art and Lisa frank art and more. These colors can be for everyone and not just for one specific group. Same goes for the rainbow.

@@leviacronym6770 yes! although the "bisexual lighting" is also a thing, it's not like it's the only meaning. for a fact blue and pink is also used to give a bisexual meaning in some more recent works. but i mean, one thing can have more than one meaning! yes the bisexual lighting is a thing, yes the fantasy/dream lighting is a thing. i can use both meanings if i want, and i can also use this scheme with no meaning at all, just because.

@@leviacronym6770 and it's a totally fair choice. everybody can have their own interpretation of art. in films i.e., it's true that the director probably has a motive to do whatever, but the way the spectator is gonna interpret the movie is not up to the director. everybody has the right to attribute meanings to a work or not, let's just enjoy things the way we want and let people be!

I think most of the hate is coming from people who already don't like Disney (because they're 'woke' or whatever) so they're just looking for a convenient excuse to hate on them. OK before getting to the end of this video, I just have to say… I went to school for film literally within the last two years, there is no lesson on bisexual lighting hahaha… we definitely learn, lighting techniques, cinematography, and color theory. And purple symbolizes whimsy. I think Willy Wonka‘s jacket for the most common example. So….that is all.

Pink/ purple and sometimes blue are the colors that colorblind people cant differentiate between. I remember a kid I went to school with seen everything in black and white. If you can see color, realize you're lucky to be able to do so.

One more thought - I changed the parental controls to no sexual content and I was able to get 3 channels besides a home shopping network. I challenge anyone to do the same and then come tell me how many you get. Sexual content is coming at your child from everywhere not Disney.
