I think they all have good moments. I've noticed that if the camera catches Duncan yawning, especially during the initial pitch, he is very curt when he tells them he's out.

Duncan is one of the least generous dragons, often very quick to declare himself out. Rarely giving valuable insights and tips. Definitely worse than Peter, Deborah, Theo or Richard Farleigh.

I think you might have misunderstood the point.

It's very different to have several mature, thriving business which has lots of employees to run it day in, day out, and for you to pop in when needed, than 2 start ups/ early businesses that need all or most of your attention on a daily basis with no employees.

It's not an investor's job to run a company. Deborah's point is more valid that they are just not going to bother with the other company if they have 2 and are running them both with one at 100% ownership and the other at 60-55%. Peter probably very slightly runs his businesses - he definitely has CEOs that do it and he will manage it overall.

They didn't start out as investors. They started as entrepreneurs who expanded into various fields.

Even back in 2008 when I worked in the online casino business, Bingo was a massive part of the online space.

Because businesses are never as profitable as people make out. If thier current business was making any proper money, they would not bother doing anything else, nor would they use it as leverage. But because they knew their normal business wasn't anything amazing, they happily give it away to try for something bigger.

Most cases in Dragon’s Den, they wouldn’t want to just go for Subsidiaries because of the likely chance of failure. It’s better to invest in multiple companies incase the other fails. And yeah the Dragon’s don’t need Entrepreneurs. The Entrepreneurs needs the Dragons and because of that, the Dragon’s standing has more ground and standing than the one asking for money.

If you own casinos, you should be on top of where ANY gambling takes place, it will help you with future trends, and adapt your business. Looking into this aired October 2007, so maybe filmed 2006. Certainly 2006 would have been part of the boom, as TV advertising was allowed in 2005. Duncan being so dismissive of that, IMO reflects poorly on him.
