What's wrong with being an introvert? I never handled being around others very well, always stressed until I got home to unwind from people. It wasn't until quarantine that I found out I'd always been an introvert...that or a hermit. 🙂

My grandmother lived outside of Anchorage Alaska about 2-3 miles away from a small town. She walked to town at least once a week but often several times even during peak winter periods, all she would eat was fish and veggies and would shovel her own roof off. She did this up to weeks before she passed in 2003 at the young age of 96. People are amazing creatures.

I even started having my groceries delivered and although my husband goes out to work, I didn’t have to even leave if I didn’t want. I’m fact a number of times I found myself grateful and relieved to be get out of some social obligations 😅 “oh I’m sorry we can’t do that, it’s not safe for our health and others” was great for me. Not really, you will die from hunger, from the lack of food. Yes, you can go hunting, but they might go to another place, and if its in a cold place, most likely you will die from hyperthermia more than hunger. If its in a hot place, like a desert, you will die from starvation, because in the desert there is absolutely no food and barely any water. If its in a forest, it will be really hard, you will most likely die from natural matters, or poisoning. But in the city, theres fresh food, and no way of dying, better stay inside your home.

I've lived in urban and rural locations and would never go back to the city. I have my 5 acres in a remote location with garden, greenhouse, big older house, fruit trees, a beach, and forest. I've never had a cell phone (just landline) and haven't had TV in over 20 years. I can't do without the internet though. I have always liked my own company and privacy and now that I'm no longer married to the class clown who always had to drag me along to be with crowds of people, I'm so happy. I left him and the city many years ago. This pandemic isn't affecting me one bit because I only go for mail and groceries about every 18 days. There are not any other stores in town so it is mail order only. I'm extremely self-sufficient and can fix all of my own equipment with the help of KZfaq and could fend for myself even without the grocery store, so wouldn't even notice if Covid thinned the herd a lot more than it has. The hardest thing is keeping 'friends' (Ex's group) from using me as their cheap vacation destination in normal times. At least this last year I didn't have to think of excuses to fend them off. No thanks... I'd rather watch the tide come in on my own. It took me a long time to accept that wanting to be alone is not abnormal, so cheers to all of you other introverts out there!

@@zaserker1851 It is not impossible if you are retired, are reasonably healthy, and have savings to fall back on. I'd hate to try it thinking that I had to completely support my needs at my age, but a lot of younger couples do it, even in this town. I can be self-sufficient if we had a disaster that isolated my remote location, but am glad to be able to get some of my foods from the small grocery store or mail order. I've been doing this for a long time so have had a lot of practice working things out.

@becky 22 It wouldn't be good for your mental health; you would be all alone for years (if you choose to do that) with no one to talk to except your pet frog who shits on your hand every time you pick it up. You would start to go crazy, your referring to yourself as "we" and "today you and I are going to . . ." I suppose you could see how this could be an issue.

And: The fact that you are under the constant threat of going hungry or thirsty; that's when the survival skills kick in. But in order to have the survival skills, you'll need years of training to understand your environment and how to use it to your advantage in full. It would be fine if you have some other people, but humans aren't designed to live by themselves.

Say what you want, But I Love living in the City Centre, Having helped all those people in school who got bullied, Helping people who have been wronged and need help, Having that busy lifestyle, Helping people who were in need and needed help, It takes a strong person To stand up to bad people or evil, And Im Proud of what I have done, And All those people who I have helped, I wouldnt change it for the world, You cant just hide all the time in life and moan about anxiety, Sometimes YOU JUST HAVE TO DO IT !!! And help people and be nice to people. Stay safe out there people, If anyone out there is having a bad time, YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS ! Good things come to those who wait, But remember Those bad things bad people say to you, Doesnt mean anything, Because those people are bad and their word means nothing, YOU ARE A GOOD PERSON, KEEP GOING !!! FIGHT FOR LIFE !!!
