For those who aren’t aware, being legally blind does not mean completely blind. He may be able to see things up close such as a Tetris game but seeing things past a certain point - I.e anything further then 4-6ft away - may be a complete blur.

Regardless of who was right or wrong in this case, I don’t really care, because I am just so upset by the defendant saying “don’t trust the handicaps”. That is SO WRONG!!! Doesn’t she realize that is no different than racism?? Just change the roles in this case: a white person as the defendant, a black person as the plaintiff. It doesn’t matter what sex either of them are, it doesn’t matter if either are physically handicapped or not. The white person becomes friends with the black person, allows them to rent a room in their home, things start to go wrong between them, complaints from both sides. White person kicks black person out of the house suddenly, so black person is upset about having paid rent but not being allowed allowed to stay for the full number of days they’ve paid for, also says some of their stuff is still in the defendant’s home. And there is also a car that lists both of these people on the registration, but there is a dispute about who paid for it and who it belongs to. When all is said and done, the judge believes parts of each person’s testimony. Judge awards some money to plaintiff but not as much as they had sued for. Then the (white) defendant goes outside the courtroom and says “don’t trust the black people.” Wouldn’t that be horrible and outrageuos??
