The plaintiff says he loaned the defendant money over the course of a few years, but now his friend is not paying anything back, so he’s suing. The defendant says the money was a gift, and he claims he’s never met the plaintiff in person, only online.

Some of these comments come down on them for gaming, but most folks spend literal hours on social media across apps, so stop throwing stones. These two seemed like nice guys. The defendant was straightforward about his circumstances and the plaintiff was trying to be a good, supportive friend. I personally think the new chic is in the plaintiff's ear and is influencing a lot of this. What the defendant said was a bad joke but it could have been worked through. When that girl is gone, they'll probably make amends.
@dragames

IT wasn't even a joke he said, the plaintiff backtracked on it. They were giving advice about asian culture. A lot of gamers study it or have at least an interest in it. Like Singapore is notorious for pickpockets at airports because they know they can get away with it because the tourists can't usually speak the language thus making it easier for them to escape while they struggle with the language barrier.

Men, especially with gaming, will never have a problem with each other. There are whole support communities on social media where players of games have fun, go to each other's house or meet up in an agreed place, and game to their hearts content, no problem. Whenever you involved a woman, girlfriend, or even female cousin or sister is involved, there is going to be a problem! It never fails! 😖

it wasn't that. The plaintiff was lying at times because even he knew how ridiculous it was. Such as he claimed the incident that broke them was the defendant being racist to his girlfriend, but then he changed it to what the defendant said. The plaintiff just realized that whatever ideology he was sucking in nobody cared about so he had to lie about it. saying what sort of things to look out for when traveling to a different country is not racist.

A chick, who rightfully asked 'Wait, you're sending your loser 'virtual friend' THOUSANDS of dollars?' That is ridiculous and I'm not 'sexing' any idiot dumb enough to do that. Simple as that, no mystery....his girl start asking grown-up questions and dude start seeing how ''he' was 'funding' aka 'buying' a friendship. Listening to the judge reading their messages is hilarious. To me it seems like they were genuinely friends and he sent money without being even asked and not the GF wants the money spent on her

As a woman who plays online I am not surprised the defendant spewed racist remarks. Any person of color who has played online gaming has encountered racism via vocalizations at least once. A lot of those who frequent gaming online tend to be very ignorant and in many cases racist. The only reason the defendant probably has never been called out is because he lives in an echo chamber of people who act just like him. I am extremely doubtful that the defendant has traveled anywhere to be aware of any cultural differences other than the ones that he has seen online. The plaintiff however should have been smarter and not giving away his money to some guy who has never traveled to see him or offered for him to come and see him.

I have known both of these guys for just as long as they have known each other, Jordan didn't say any racist remarks. at most he said have fun but just be careful, since Kevin had never really left the country or even really his home town much. in the 15 years i have known them, Kevin was the only one i ever heard say anything blatantly racist, and that was back when we were all still in high school (not that it excuses it, just people are fucking stupid in high school)

If you want to be repaid, you need to make an agreement before you give the person the money. And if they're going to repay you when they get their taxes back, make sure you clarify that even if they don't get it for some reason, they still owe you the money, and the money will be due at that point. People would save themselves a lot of time and money if they would just research what you can sue for, successfully, and what you can't.

On Judge Mathis it goes further to INSTEAD of getting a prepaid phone I'm going to put my name on my friend's phone plan, cosign on a car loan, have my friend pay my utility bill. 😳😳😳😳

I have friends from the internet that ive known for over 20 yrs and my family lost our pets, our home and vehicle in 2011 because of Hurricane Irene....2 of my friends sent us money and a phone to use while we were homeless for 55 days...Once we found a place a group of my internet friends put together a goodie box with food and gift cards...I asked if they wanted me to pay them back they all sent me a card stating it was a gift and they were all glad my family were alive and they helped us out etc....Matter of fact the friend from BC that wired money to our account asked how much we got and she and her husband were mad...it wasnt even close to what they wired to us because of currency rates etc...I was like its ok we are so thankful that you sent it...We never asked for anything cause were not like that....Im still friends with all of them but 2 because they passed away....I never met them in person but we video chatted on yahoo every day...
