My opinion players line up against Chelsea, Kyle Akanji Ruben Gvardiol as defernders Rodri and Kevin in front of them Julian left Jack right Doku and Phil to do the final job , Erling on the bench may be Bernardo to play if Kevin is tired.

Pep’s refusal to adapt his system like he did last season, has been the root cause of City’s defensive woes have exacerbated the creativity & goal scoring gap left with the departure of Gundo & Mahrez. Pep obsession with his absurdly high line is unequivocally responsible for our leaky defense via forced errors under pressure from opposition counter attacks. Even if we table the deleterious effects his high line and slow buildup play has on our attacking game and negative impact on Haaland, one need not look further back than the RM games where 3:4 goals they scored were a direct result of our absurd high line and each came down the flanks bc Pep refused to drop our RB and LB back a bit which gave RM’s wingers, especially down the right flanks massive area for counters. Fair play to Gvardiol for holding the left side down. When you don’t have the players necessary to execute a system 1:2 things must happen: you either adjust the system to your players (logical) or deal with the risks wrought by a system that your players cannot execute properly. Pep has been electing the latter all season and it’s been costly. Nearly every team we’ve played have all benefited from Pep’s system with great conceded chances on goal theuna counter attack. From Luton Town to Real to MU to Wolves to Palace to Villa to Copenhagen they have all countered us down the flanks and each team has scored at least 1 goal or more from it. Yet Pep continues to press on. Normally I wouldn’t care so much, but considering his poor system played to Real’s strengths and got us dumped out of the CL along with dropping so many points to counters in the PL (any wonder why we have the fewest clean sheets this season relative to the last 3 season in total or why we’ve also conceded more goals in the PL with 6 games to go than we conceded in each of the last 3 season in total?) that the title was pretty much done had it not been for such a great gift from the football gods having LFC and Arsenal drop points, we cannot afford to continue to play like this if we want to win anything. Our entire defense didn’t just miraculously fall dramatically in performance over the summer and stay poor the whole season. Mind you, we have the same players as last year. So what’s changed? The system. The facts are all there and yet Pep either doesn’t care or is too stubborn or what have you. We need the Pep of last season who adapted his system and was applauded (rightfully so) for doing it. This seasons Pep seems to have forgotten just how richly he was rewarded last season for that flexibility. Is it arrogance? Hubris? Or just plain stubbornness? I don’t know, but if he doesn’t change it, and we continue to concede goals from this absurd high line, it could be the very reason that has us lose the opportunity to make history this season losing out on the 4-peat…

Please, no high line defending ✖️, the problem is the quality of players you are buying to replace the players that left the club, really really bad signing
