Peperami for carp fishing. A quick look at carp fishing with peperami, my peperami carp rig, presentation tips and pitfalls to look out for when fishing with this tasty carp bait. Every carp angler needs a backup plan for scratching time and a peperami carp bait is my choice for nicking bites when the boilies fail.

Ibwas fishing a new place last month and not getting a great deal in the afternoon after a busy morning. In my lunchbag I had a box of Tesco spicy cocktail sausages. I chopped a few of these up and put them in a PVA bag with a handful of dry groundbait and some 6mm pellets with a piece of sausage as hook bait, 10 minutes later I was hooked up to the biggest fish of the day! No idea if it was the sausage or luck but i had a fish on the line!

i'd say it was the sausage john, i reckon because the carp had probably never seen a spicy cocktail sausage before it had never been caught on it and had no fear of it, it smelt like food and it picked it up. That's good angling mate, you tried something different and it paid off👍🎣😎

It works great on slow bite days. However it is a bit boyuant since water is polar and has a higher density than oil. Oil floats not sinks.
@MarkCarp
@MarkCarp Жыл бұрын
agreed, oil is less dense/lighter than water but my balanced peperami starts to float up after a while if i critically balance it, i know this because i've had it happen and i've ended up fishing off the lead, i've had it with boilies in dips too, the dip gets replaced with water and your critically balanced bait you carefully adjusted in the margins ends up being 'off the lead' half an hour later!, i can't explain that one!.

Good evening Mark. I've been watching your videos on chick peas, Maple peas, Pepperoni and simple carp rigs. I'm not a serious carp Angler at all, I'm a leasure Angler. I enjoyed watching your video on how to tie a simple carp rig. Because boilies are so expensive, I want to try other baits.
@MarkCarp
@MarkCarp 2 жыл бұрын
thanks lee, they are some of my favourite 'change baits', i don't tend to use boilies much these days, as you say they aren't exactly cheap are they?. don't get me wrong i've always got a few kilos ready to go because they are convenient sometimes but i've found myself using the alternatives more and more. keep it simple and you'll catch mate, most of the time it's not the rig or bait that matters, it's getting it in the right place, if you chuck a simple bait and rig in amongst carp the chances are you'll catch them and that's what i focus most of my attention on👍

cheers Daniel, i'm just happy getting runs mate, boilies, peperami, meat, particles, I use them all but I fish carp waters that are heavily pressured and I find everyone has tunnel vision and just uses boilies...so I don't use them that much anymore, all you have to do to catch is give them something different because they're not as wary as they are with boilies, it works for you as well as it works for me by the sound of it👍🎣😎

Mark Carp I have certainly been guilty of using Boilies 90% of the time over the last 20yrs or so! The reason why i think is that they are very reliable on staying on the hair for a very long time,and of course they seem to have a lot of angler pulling power! But I will use the peperami tiger nuts on certain waters which do produce fish for me and to be quite honest I like catching fish on different Boilies and other baits it really gives me buzz experimenting with different baits and catching😄do you feel like that Mark?

Hi Mark, I've always found oils/fats are actually lighter than water, that's why they always slick on the surface? 🤔
@MarkCarp
@MarkCarp Жыл бұрын
yeah, fish feed inducing oil from premier was a favourite for slicking to the top, i guess it depends how 'heavy' the particular oil is ivan?, i've been caught out critically balancing peperami only to find i'm fishing off the lead an hour later so the oil in peperami is heavy. some bait soaks too, i left some activ8 popups in an activ8 dip once and the same thing happened, they were loaded with dip and an hour or two later i was fishing off the lead again. i'm wary of oils and dips having learnt a couple of hard lessons🤔 if there's oil or bait soak in my hookbait i tend to avoid critical balance just in case👍
@ivanshipley6753
@ivanshipley6753 Жыл бұрын
@Mark Carp It's all interesting. I can explain the Mailline dips, though... The high salt/sugar contention in the Mainline dips will usually render you baits rock hard as it will ' cure ' the baits. The loss of the water is what makes them rock hard and inevitably lighter .. Good tactic if you need hard hookers 😀

@@ivanshipley6753 hmm, i'd not considered the salt/sugar content ivan, that's an interesting thought, my activ8 popups were in a tub of the dip for a long time and they were on the hard side👍

Is that a private venue you fish at or a day ticket.

Cool video....i used to use the green pepperami a lot on a water that had banned boilies - worked very well, then i started to roll my fishmeal boilies into sausage shapes and use the pepperami packet to put it in and take it from...this worked great to!! haha. One Q if you don't mind is that water Horseshoe on the PAAS card?

@MarkCarp 4 жыл бұрын
nice one dale, i've never done that trick with the sausage shapes and peperami packet but i have rolled my boilies into barrels, you get them by using a 14mm nozzel on the gun and a 16mm rolling table, they come out as barrels and you can pass them off as pellets if you put them in a bag that's had pellets in👍😁 i never name waters but there are a few videos on this channel filmed on the same lake, chickpeas, wheat, maple peas, groats, floater fishing, if you've been there before or pay a visit you'll recognise it so i'll say no more other than i don't film there anymore because of new club rules👍 lol

@@dalelindley21 good luck dale, yes you'll know for sure tomorrow, the water you mentioned has plenty of carp, because it's only small it fishes better when there aren't many people on👍
