These suckers took forever to grow roots! It's always kind of scary propagating, because you don't want to ruin your plant. However, I promise it will grow back. Look at what happened with mine!

Very helpful! Yeah I would leave them because peps can stay in their pots for a long time. Also if you pinch back the tops they will grow bushy. My variegated obtusifolia completely reverted - not just the new growth but all the leaves turned to green at the same time. It's in a south window, getting 3 to 4 hours of direct sun, so I can't give it more light unless I put it outside! I'll be showing it in my new video on Tuesday. I did fertilize it (all of them actually) last week because all of my peps are growing. No complaints so far... fingers crossed.

Free Range Diva eeek! I’m so scared to fertilize in the winter. Do you also use the fish emulsion stuff? Sad that your variegated one reverted 😢, definitely crying for more sun. That should be plenty of sun though if it’s already getting 3-4 hours a day... keeping my fingers crossed for ya!! 🤞🏼🌱❤️

@@Botanibabies New growth is still coming in green despite the sun so I think there must be something it its DNA. I use the organic fertilizer from Espoma. It's gentle and also adds beneficial bacteria so I feel safer using that. Although I would think the fish fertilizer you're using is gentle, too.

I have the red edge peperomia, and the dark green variegated peperomia, I would love to get this variety, and they have a couple at the place I work. I also have the regular green version with no variegation on the leaves. Thanks for this video it has been a fun one, I do love this plant. I hope you have a wonderful day and I will see you soon, bye for now.

I say definitely prune the variegated obtusifolia ... pruning is never easy for us to do to our leaf babies but it’s really beneficial for them to get a bushier plant 🙂 good luck!

I have 3 very full pots of them - 2 variegated and plain green. 2 are staked to bamboo sticks and are 2 feet tall, but the variegated doesn't grow as fast. They're under bright lights and I fertilize all year. Was going to cut them back but don't want more of them. They have been very easy plants but I didn't think they would grow so tall.

I would let the variegated ones just grow bigger into nice big plants for now. I would put them all together to. Make a full bushy big planter of it, that’s just me! Tfs

When I put my variegated ones by the window, the leaves started falling so I put it back where it used to be, where it gets bright and indirect sunlight. And then some of the leaves have turned brown.😢

Thank you so very much for sharing this info. I have both plants and it just occured to me that the reason I'm about to loose my variegated one might not be due to the gnat infestation of several months ago but most probably it's because of the lowl ight condition of where I have it. Also, instead of throwing away a leaf that fell off, I put it in water to see what would happen. Viola, it rooted. Although, it's been several months and the roots are still too young to plant in soil. To your question. I would behead your variegated babies to force them to bush out. Thanks again for this helpful video and Happy 20PLENTY! 💕

MmabathoSisJ yes! I think a lot of us get the impression that plants can do well in low light conditions because they can tolerate it for a bit of time. I was really shocked when I saw roots on those leaves! Plants are so dang incredible 😍. I think I should behead the variegated one too... I’m afraid it’ll start to lean over if it grows more. Also, I’m already having to rotate it by the windows cause it leans towards the sun. ...thank you so much for watching! ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks! I use the Alaska fish fertilizer. It’s quite smelly, so I only use it in the summer. I’m posting a video this Sunday on tips for preparing your houseplants for spring. I show the fertilizer in that video if that helps

Are you waiting for it to dry out between waterings? Does your pot have a drainage hole? Is it getting enough light? there are lots of variables that might be contributing and without knowing more information it's hard to tell. I would start with waiting for it to dry out completely between waterings and get a moisture meter for sure :)

Well, Bruria, this is my video and I will talk as much as I please 😆. The real question here is: why do you have to be rude? If you dislike something about the video, no one is forcing you to watch, my dear. Simply exit the video and move on with your life 🤣. I hope that moving forward, you aspire to be more kind to other people. Though your rudeness does not affect me in any way, you could potentially hurt someone else’s feelings who may not be able to react in the same way. Try not to be so grumpy today, Bruria.
