Please, forget the movie. It has very little to do with the book. The series has some changes of course, but it sticks close to the source material. It's critical that the characters are young, because it comes into play through the series. Even a god like Dionysus can snap his fingers and make a demigod drop dead. The gods do, however have flaws that can be taken advantage of, as we will see. I think your format is hindering you in watching this. You've missed a LOT of the subtlety of the series by constantly talking over it. It was never meant to be pure action. I can understand you're not enthusiastic about it, but you're not the target audience. The movie aged the characters up because it was aiming more at your demographic. The series is following the book in making it suitable for families. It has a lot for older people as well as kids, but as I noted, they're subtle, thought-provoking rather than exciting. In a weird way, Hades portrayal kinda reminds me of how they portrayed Lucifer from the show Lucifer. Rather than being evil incarnate they show him as a some what normal guy

Hades is not the Devil like in Christianity, he is just a guy in management. He works on keeping things moving as best and as organized as possible. Sure hes very powerful but there is no reason to flaunt it since he has no one to impress. Idk why the movie depictied him as Satan in that one scene but Hades has never (even in ancient mythology) been evil. If you are thinking of the god of Death that is Thanatos.

Despite the changes, this is MUCH closer to the books, so if you remember the movies, you can see how inaccurate the movies actually were, since Hades was the evil guy in the movies but in the books and this TV show his not.

Poseidon doesn't have any other demigod kids. Percy is the only one alive. Ares comment about other kids was referring to Poseidon's kids from way back in history.

Not sure if youll read but I want you guys to know Ares is not the father of Annabeth, she is the Daughter of Athena who is the Goddess of Wisdom while Ares is the God of War, if Ares and Athena made Annabeth then that would make her a god which she is not, Hercules is the best example I can give, he IS a god but not one of the big 12, there are more gods out there but they dont have to be the Big 12. So Athena is the mother and she has a mortal father. But Im sure others have already said this but Im gonna throw it out there is case someone hasnt.

I think the worst thing they had against them was the 30 min episode thing. All the traps the trio walked into in the books are almost immediately neutralized in this show. It’s like the trio automatically figures out the traps in the series. Idk if it was time constraints or what but I really would’ve liked to see a bit more struggle from our protagonists

Each pantheon's offspring work slightly differently, Nephilims or angel offspring do not function on the same logic as Greek demigods or half-bloods. Demigods are not as strong as their parents, but they are more resourceful, and do not have their parent's cosmic restrictions.

The Underworld is NOT Hell. All the mortal dead go there. The Underworld has different sections depending on what you did in life. There is a section for eternal punishment, but also eternal paradise.

Yeah they didn't do Hades very well in this show. Although he is distinctly NOT evil, he is supposed to imposing and intimidating. What happened is that the movies butchered Hades and made him a cartoonish villain, so the show overcorrected and wanted to make it VERY CLEAR that he wasn't a bad guy and was actually chill. They did a similar thing with the Lotus Hotel and Casino scene, one of if not the only good scene from the movie, where they went as hard in the opposite direction as possible, which actually ended up hurting the show overall.

The Captain Marvel movie was not great, no one faults you there. The Marvels was pretty entertaining in my opinion, nothing ground breaking or profound, but it was fun to watch, and very visually appealing. It was carried by the Khan's though. Captain Marvel was the least interesting part.

Since you want to know Luke stole the bolt . Ares caught him and instead of reporting him he kept the bolt . Episode 6 we see Kronos confronting Luke about getting the bolt taken from him . Kronos then enters ares mind to get him to work for him , Percy asks him if they were communicating through dreams in episode 8 . Percy has to be 12 because the whole book series is based on a prophecy that so be fulfilled when he turns 16 . Watching the movie or reading won’t give you the menacing gods you looking for because this story is not about them . Hades isn’t the devil he is the god of the underworld , underworld has heaven and hell , hell is Tartarus where Kronos is . Wanting a show of a 12 year old based on a book for middle schoolers to be full gore is insane , y’all watch too much anime. The show will obviously get darker because the problems will get real whereas in book 1 it was just about zues dick measuring contest and Percy has been a demigod for 7 days . Since you going to rush and watch the movies , no Kronos won’t rise in season 2 like the movies .

Show is very underwhelming, book is better (bc the books are always better), but I do think it has mostly to do with time. They're trying to condense an entire book into 20 min, 8 episodes so there's more tell and not enough showing. I also think because it's disney they're definetly outright saying things that in the book took a while to figure out. The Crusty's thing is a perfect example, they didn't walk in knowing where they were or that he even was a monster. Same with medusa. Same with literally every monster, which I get is odd for kids who should know that there are monsters chasing them so some of the "oh i know who you are" is fair. Specifically Medusa bc Aunty Em's is a dead give away. Also we are entirely missing Percy's narration which was peak comedy and what made the books so fun for me personally. Hades was scarier in the books, but he wasn't evil or anything. Just like more intimidating than this, I think they're trying to fill the gap of Percy's funny internal monologue with comedy coming from the olympians like hades or Ares (he was also way more intimidating in the books, I'm pretty sure whenever he was around people would start fighting around him just because of his presence) but I don't think that works very well. Hopefully they take more of the criticism into account for season two and beyond but honestly Sea of Monsters (book two) is the most boring for me so that season isn't going to be fun regardless. ope my bad, I wrote a whole essay
