Riptide in the background really made this for me. It's one of those things that the book nerds will know but anyone can enjoy. I think its a good sign if they approach the rest of the production similarly.

Making this into a TV show was the best decision. This way they won't have to cram 300 pages of words into a 2 hour movie, and it will give character building scenes like the 'Tunnel of Love" time to breathe. It's scenes like these that meet the chopping board when adapting to a movie. We'll be seated on December 20th.

I feel like my way of preparing for this show is the exact OPPOSITE to yours! I'm making sure to avoid my volumes ever since I heard about them making the TV series. My reasoning? I want to experience the story with as fresh eyes as they can get, and avoid constant subconscious comparing one medium to the other. You know what I mean? I still remember all the major plot points, obviously, but I really don't want to be like "oh, this line isn't word by word as it was in the book :/". BUT I'm planning to reread the series as soon as I'll finish the show, to catch all the Easter eggs!

The excitement... very present (in you and me both!) and extremely warranted, I feel like. Also, I actually started my full Riordanverse reread back in October and it's been such a blast reliving those books again. I've actually sort of started picturing the characters as the show's cast already, which just confirms for me that the casting is absolutely impeccable. Also, every time I've tried to reread the HOO series, I've ended up in a slump after The Lost Hero, so I'm super chuffed to say... I've actually just finished Son of Neptune! I might manage a full series reread this time. This is so exciting!! Anyway, this video made me smile so much! Well relatable. Can't wait for 20th December!!! xx

I am right with you. I have reread all of them this past year because I listen to a podcast called The Newest Olympian. It is done by a 30 year old who hasn’t read the series and is now reading them and his reactions.

I have never read the Percy Jackson books, and my only knowledge of the story is from the movies that came out a while back. So, I can't wait to see your reactions to the show and how it compares to the books!!

I'm going to Attempt to reread the original series before Dec 5th because I like a challenge. Someone mentioned here a live watch party together when the series drops, you can do a live stream where all of us can watch along together with our synced up copies and comment in the live chat. You're the third KZfaqr I've seen reacting to "mini Percy" wondering if they used CGI on Walker as if finding a white, blonde kid in New York was the hardest thing lol I'm so excited for this series!! Finally Uncle Rick is getting his crown!

The showrunners have made Black Sails. They're experienced, so that's good. Unlike certain fantasy book shows that had showrunners who are products of nepotisim.

I don't think anybody is missing it enough going on about it, but tell me would you rather have somebody with the look but can't play the part or somebody that embodies the character so well? I know what I prefer that's why I love our Annabeth.

Boycotting Disney won’t work because it’s not a small company you can ruin, it’s a monopoly which is everywhere, hence it’s impossible to destroy it. It can only put the show in jeopardy as it’s important to watch it on the platform in order to get new seasons and show our support and gratitude to all these wonderful people who had worked their asses off to make a faithful adaptation. There are many effective ways to help Palestine. Regarding boycott you should read BDS movement list, it listed Disney under Non-Boycott category for reasons I mentioned above and asks people to focus on consumer and organic targets which are smaller companies that can be boycotted (Starbucks, McDonald, Pizza Hut, Siemens, HP, Puma)
