Perfect Day for a Ride! 2-26-24

The weather was fantastic today. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to fire up one of the little bikes. 45 miles on the Honda SL70 / Lifan 125. Can’t wait to have some of you ride with me again!

This February ride in the country of yours reminded me of when I was a kid (14- yrs old), with my Honda Trail 70, I’d ride in the wintertime on our residential street when there wasn’t any snow cause I figured I was less apt to bother the neighborhood with all their doors and windows closed. Back then a kid on a minibike riding on the street was a big no-no with some people who would call the “men in blue”.

I was fortunate enough to grow up out in the country. Nothing but farmers and farm kids. We were driving farm trucks on the road by the time we were 13. No one paid any attention to a kid on a bike, or on a tractor or in a vehicle.

It's great to see you out on that stunning bike. I'm in northern Wisconsin I have 17 vintage Hondas in my collection I'm currently remodeling a shop dedicated to my collection where I will be able to start working on them again. I hope to meet you someday and go for a ride

It was in the low 60° F range here in Southwest Idaho Friday. My five year old grandson went for a ride with me on my '69 CT90. He was all smiles the whole time.

Ya know, a bunch of us should get together and crash a "Cars-N-Coffee" event this spring? We could even meet up somewhere and rife to the one at IMS. That is at the museum, and could be pretty cool.

It is a pretty place to ride. Kinda boring now, with no leaves, but the roads are still fun. Yep, pin that throttle and go! 🤣

Nice! The weather was great down here in Georgia too. I took my CT70 with the 125 Lifan motor for a ride as well.

looked like you had a great time, Here in California , At least where i live, You never see the streets so empty with cars and trucks. I never forgot how you helped me with my electrical issue with my ct-90 blinkers, I learned a lot from that video and now understand the wiring harness on these bikes. I am now up to 6 bikes and have learned a lot about these bikes. Thanks for the great videos.

It falls off tonight. The high for tomorrow is 63°…….at midnight. By 10:30am tomorrow, it falls to 35° and then in the 20’s tomorrow night. Ya gotta take them while they’re there. Yesterday was a good ride.

Nice ride, thanks for sharing. I recognized some of those roads around town before you hit the country. The weather is very similar here in Alabama right now. That darn "job thing" is keeping me from going on rides right now. 🙂

My first street bike was a 1966 305 Dream. I still have it. It needs a clutch and a couple other things, but the last time I looked at it, it’s still a good looking bike.

Hoping to make it out there one of these days for one of your rides. Maybe bring the XL70 I got from you or an SL70 with the 125cc like you did. Great fun on those winding roads… too much sand and salt around here for those roads this time of year.

It was an eBay purchase. I prefer Arthur Fulmer brand helmets and someone had this one, from the earlier 2000’s, on eBay for cheap. I think it’s from 2009, but in great shape.

She is a very multitalented lady. She did work in a lab and retired maybe 18 months ago. Since then, her creative side has exploded and she has produced some beautiful metal art pieces.

Looking good man, I put around 25 miles on my little Leo yesterday. Went for a ride after work today too. It’s nice to be out and not completely bundled up and freezing. Any idea when the spring ride will be so I can make sure to get out that way again?

This far out that date works fine for me, I’ll make sure I’m available that weekend. I’m looking forward to another ride! I’ve been messing with my bike most of the winter and am hoping to have my new front end, extended swing arm and go to 10” tires by then. Just waiting for bartmoto to release the new front end to order it all.

@blakehamby3544 You might want to pencil in the following Saturday, May 4th. I’ve already had one conflict with 4/27. I’ll post a video in a few days with a definitive date.
