Just preheat your oven for about 15 mins at 180°c and then throw the cake tin with batter inside the oven for about 35-40 mins at 160-180°c depending upon the size of your cake and your otg! Your welcome 😅

The sparkling water works well for anything you fear won't be fluffy enough and that adding too much baking soda or powder will affect the flavor. Really good affordable egg sub for a lot of recipes. Great for vegan (or non-vegan) pancakes and waffles too!

The nearest comparison I can think of is how you probably don't call your human parents by their first names, also as a mark of respect. It's not that their names are considered bad or anything; it's basically a formality thing. (-: Hope that answered your question decently for now. You can definitely find more detailed explanations online, though.

Don't opens the door in the oven bcs it can makes the cake to collapse,at the end you can stick a fork into the cake to see if it's ready,if the fork doesn't get sticky,the cake is ready. JazzyT.

I saw a Chinese granny on KZfaq make a very similar recipe with Sprite (which is reportedly vegan) and just less of the other sweeteners. If you don't have easy access to sparkling water or it's silly expensive, it might be something to try.

Sparkling water is cheap here in Canada. 2L for $1.49. Mineral water is more pricey. I think it's a nice alternative to baking soda/powder because those can give an after taste.

That's basically how I make my mug cakes 😂 I don't use baking powder tho Just sugar, cocoa powder, flour, milk (or vegan alternative) and oil (most important step) + some baking chocolate sprinkled into the mix. 2 minutes in the microwave and done! The frosting looks great tho and will remake that for my next mug cake :)

Egg does very little to make baked goods fluffy. Probably the baker you went to made a mistake somehow. Things like baking soda or baking powder are usually the thing that give baked goods their fluffiness (unless like, whipped egg whites are a part of the non-vegan batter) but yeah carbonated beverages also are great for this. I’ve seen that so much with non-vegan bakers though. Like, they’ll make a cake that’s too dense, and think “oh I’ll just add more egg” and then get surprised when it comes out just as dense the second time. Like, lack of egg isn’t the problem there, captain lol, you need to try something else

The one I make uses lemon and baking soda, like 1 tbsp to 10g for 435g of flour. Big butt: you have to be quick when mixing it and put it quickly in the oven, so I would advise you mix all the wet and all the dry and only combine once everything is ready to go.

I’ve been making this cake for years it’s an old recipe. It was originally called depression cake because of the ingredients. However, one ingredient to add to it which really makes a big difference is a tablespoon of white vinegar which you add at the end, stir thoroughly and then bake. It does make a difference, so try it.

I love your recipes! They are delicious and very healthy- and they’re probably kitchen newbie friendly! I’m also not a vegan, but I really love eating vegan food a few times a week. I love the brighter flavors in vegan food, and tbh vegan food is often times quicker to make than the standard diet versions (I wasn’t sure if i should say animal product version or not.😅)
