The only golf drill you will ever need to improve your takeaway in your golf swing. The correct golf takeaway will help you achieve a backswing that gives you the best opportunity to square up the club face at impact.
In this weeks golf lesson you will learn in my opinion the only golf drill you will ever need to make that first move perfect.

ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On KZfaq and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Just played with 2 men in their 80’s. Both beat me by 10 strokes. They consistently hit the ball right down the middle for 150 to 175. They had a great short game. I was shocked. I’ve been playing 52 years. I was Goliath off the tee box but they slayed me to pieces after that. It was embarrassing. I hope i never see them again.

Hi Danny, Your take away drill seemed so simple and basic. My iron play isn't the worst, but not exactly great either. Went out on the course, last evening, and decided to try your take away method. About an 90% success rate; iron shots that went where they were supposed to go. Brilliant drill. Thanks!

Hi Danny watched this take away video and took it to the golf course today, not only was I striking the ball much more consistently, it also improved the timing of the hole golf sequence, such a simple tip but amazing results. Many thanks for all the time and effort you put into trying to help us golfers it's very much appreciated.

This video helped me realize so many things, I had problems initiating the backswing and letting my arms swing freely. After doing a proper takeway as specified in his video those problems have simply vanished. This video really opened my eyes as to how wrong my takeaway had been before. Thank you very much.

I can’t say enough about how much this video has helped my golf swing and literally connected the dots of so many other aspects of my horrible over the top swing! I have been struggling with my take away forever. I was always convinced it was the root cause of my over the top swing but just could never figure out what the correct take away and backswing should be like. . I have had several teaching pros tell me my take away needed to be corrected and provided various drills and feels but nothing had changed. This video is so simple to understand and really illustrated to me how to execute a proper take away and backswing. What I also discovered in doing the take away and backswing drill correctly was my limited physical capability to make a full turn. Before i was just turning my shoulders thinking i was doing it correctly and taking club inside every time. Thanks for making something that is overcomplicated so simple to understand and execute!

Been playing for a few summers and have always rotated my forearms/wrists as soon as I started the takeaway. My buddy who is an excellent golfer and good teacher was desperately trying to teach me to stop doing that the last few weeks (lol) but I was not getting it for some reason. This video finally made it click for me and my first round out, far fewer chunks and inconsistent, terrible shots. Going to spend a good amount of time watching other videos and hopefully gleaning some info to correct other faults in my swing. Cheers.

Danny about 10 years ago I had been playing golf for about 12 years with a consistent slice and one day I noticed that at the very beginning (about the first inch) of my take away the club head was slightly drifting away from my body. I then started concentrating taking the club head straight back away from the ball and have been hitting the ball dead straight ever since. So I personally found the take away to be the single most important game improvement to my game.

Mahalo Braddha Dan. As I used to tell my (now 10 years old daughter) easy-peesy-chicken-squeezie. Seriously though, and I think I speak for a lot of guys my age (53) and just now learning the game. We've forgotten what we learned when we we played little league in the 1970s. Good hitting and pitching was the result of basic muscle movement -- muscle memory. I mean anyone can pick up a bat and swing it, but great hitters -- like great golfers -- are very efficient in their movements. We all started not trying to hit home runs or throw 90 mph. My coaches wanted easy contact, open the hips, the bat would slightly lag and come around with power. Same as pitching -- throw strikes -- and use your body as one big lever. You can do neither if your body does not move in motion like golf. Basics basics basics. I'd rather strike the ball well, consistently now and increase power as my swing become more efficient than kill the ball 10% of the time and go 300 yards like a lot of these young guys. Cheers.

Was struggling with a method to have a consistent takeaway. I tend to snatch it inside. This tip just makes sense what a proper takeaway feels like. It worked. It also helped my chipping. I shot 82 the first time out after struggling with mid-90’s for too long. Thank you.

I didn’t think watching a video could improve my swing but I am thrilled. I watch your brilliant videos at night after work and then apply what I learned on the weekend at the range. Amazingly I am able to transfer the knowledge to my swing even though several days have passed and there is no live instructor to give me feedback. I plan to take lessons but until then your videos are really working for me. Thank you,

Nice video. That's exactly how I swing. It just simplifies everything on the downswing including making contact (though the backswing takes some getting used to). One difficulty with this swing is the direction of the ball (left or right). It takes practice to properly align the face of the clubhead every time when coming out of the backswing. And you must adapt the positioning for long irons. But that's golf. Practice!

@@DanielMaude yeah this helps a lot. I used the check points you mentioned and tried to focus on keeping my sternum parallel with the ball until impact. Probably the best I've ever hit at the range. 8/10 shots were good. 1/10.was okay, 1/10 was poor but I know what I did wrong. Now practice practice practice. Thanks. This is the best golf tip I've ever received.
