I have two recipes, one with crust and one without. First is crust: 1 cup Greek yogurt and 1 1/2 cups self rising flour. Knead and add flour until acceptable texture then top as you wish cook at 450F. Makes 12 inch pizza pie. Next my favorite with no crust: I suggest this one first for simplicity is one meat loaf dish with bottom covered by pepperoni and and a small smear of your choice marina sauce, cover the above with 5/16-1/2 inch of block mozzarella, lightly dust top with garlic powder, cook @ 450F until it smells like pizza and very light browning on top of cheese. With this recipe, pineapple, bell pepper, mushrooms, and any wet topping has to spend 24 hours uncovered in the fridge and put on top of the cheese. Each of these feed one adult, two kids, or 1/2 of my nephew. Take care from Oklahoma Mike and Vee

Steve this is nice and easy. I make my pizza dough a in batches and I only use Italian 00 fine flour, it makes the pizza dough so crispy. I sometimes add garlic powder into the dough Lao. Loved the video my friend.

Great! Thank you, Chef Steve. Pretty much worked out as you described. I used corn meal for the shaping step. A few caveats based on my experience with the procedure: Don’t try to make a super sized pizza when shaping , otherwise it will get too thin in the center (I had to patch a hole or two); I found the crust somewhat bland tasting - may have to increase the amount of salt?; I covered my dough with a damp dish cloth while it was raising and the dough stuck to the cloth😖! But all in all a great procedure.
@Steve-Owens
@Steve-Owens 2 жыл бұрын
Yep a damp cloth will do that.. definitely salt to taste and experiment with different flour brands.. for flavour. Good luck

Steve hello to you. It is more convenient if it was listed on the screen when you give the quantities of materials. It's easier to understand and write. When you just say without being registered it makes it difficult. At least those who do not really understand English and rely on the weight that will appear on the screen. Anyway thank you

Hi, Steve. That pizza dough looks simply delish. If I was making pizza, it has to be Stuffed Crust Meat Lovers pizza from Pizza Hut. What's the best way to use the rest of your olive oil? Have a good day, Steve.

Hello Steve how long should I let the dough balls rise before shaping
@Steve-Owens

Depends greatly on the ambient Temperature and humidity Tracy, until they have plumped to twice the size but it can vary from place to place. experiment with a small batch to see your times..

So, the ratios are 150g of flour, 80ml of water, 1TB olive oil, 3/4 tsp yeast, 1/4 tsp salt per pizza? Do I have that right? And that trick with the semolina flour is brilliant! Pizza tomorrow for us!
@Steve-Owens
@Steve-Owens 7 жыл бұрын
That's correct Lisa, for 1 pizza, or make a slightly more manageable double batch and freeze 1 base, it just floats on the flour but be careful just to stretch away the edge, the temptation is to push from the centre and end up with a Life Saver Pizza 🙃🍕🍩
@LindseyLouWho
@LindseyLouWho 7 жыл бұрын
Well that settles a personal debate for me; would I have used cornmeal or semolina for my dough? Steve says semolina, then I'll use semolina. Anyone use Bob's Red Mill Semolina for a pizza dough? Or recommend another brand that could be purchased in the SE US (access to Publix, Walmart, Whole Foods, Fresh Market, Trader Joes, Lowe's)? I like a finer texture, and some semolina tends to be coarse (to me). I suppose it boils down to personal preference, but I'd love to hear thoughts on Bob's Red Mill. Thanks all!

It's what the Italians use and I do recommend it. A little store near me uses 20% Fine Ground Oatmeal in the Pizza base and that was amazing too.. Thank you..

I am pretty sure you will have the flour under another name, Bread flour is sometimes called Strong Flour, it contains more Protein, between 11.5 and 13%, so ask your grocers about that.. Hope it helps. Keep me posted..
