Amazing! Tens machine ordered!! Thankyou .. great to hear your going ok and that’s quite surprising that the head bearings are already toast! Was it a requirement to check them in an early service and they may have over looked it?? Hence the early degradation? How’s the ankle now? Are you, or have you any tours booked yet this year? I have a schuberth but it does not fit my head to well as it transpired … so it may be going up for sale and money towards a neotec 3 (it transpires I have a “shoei head”) according to Moto legends in Guildford … in-fact she said almost Instantaneously I have the wrong helmet .. never mind … I still have my neotec 2 which I was retiring but has now come out of retirement .. so I’ll wait and see , it’s a very expensive outlay and yes I got it wrong .. never mind , I hope your hand gets better , I plan to use mine on my neck and knee

As you probably gathered from my video, I'm a convert to "Tens". If you have access to a physioterrorist, ask them which would be best for you. Setting "H" works best for me on my knees and wrist - your "mileage" will probably be different - start slow 10 minutes. After using it daily for about 3 -5 days most of the pain has gone or has reduced considerably. Though, if you do something untoward (me, do something stupid? All the bl**dy time😁) then it comes back! The ankle is fine now a bit weak at times but I can run again. It's now the wrist which is worst. Every day I spanner on the bikes equals 3 - 4 days with a brace. The FJR has nearly 27,000 km (16,700 miles) It was a quiet year last year. The head bearings were checked and tightened at ~9,000 km (5,500 miles). I don't know if they were checked by Yamaha at the 16,000 km (10,000 mile) service. I should have checked them last year (24,000 km) but forgot - oops! I found out why the bike felt a bit strange after the new tyres. One of the front brake pistons is sticking so binding the brakes. Tomorrow, I'll clean the calipers and pistons all round and see if that fixes the problem, if not it's a new set of seals. Apart from one half-worn sticking brake pad, the others look nearly new. I haven't decided on the helmet yet. I may just get something cheap for around town. An HJC, Scorpion or similar. I hope the Tens machine works for you and you find a helmet that fits you. Both the Schuberth and the NeoTech II fit me - the Schuberth a little better. Say hi, to the "Chap in the Cap"...

@@riderramblings Thankyou for the reply , .. Brakes are the brain of my life! ,, on the pan the nearside front caliper has a secondary master cylinder which activates the rear brake on Honda’s duel brake design. It’s an absolute pain and quite often you’ll find the piston siezes up, resulting in the rear brake binding, almost to a point where it locks up, which, in fact mine did on me, and turned my disk, cherry red. After releasing the bleed nipple on the roadside I managed to prize the piston back and limp home with very little brakes at all. Luckily it was late at night and I was on country roads so I managed it okay. It’s now all sorted thankfully but brakes are quite often overlooked and are one of the most important parts of our motorbikes Anyhow, thanks again for the recommendation on the tens machine. I’m looking forward to receiving it and getting it used to alleviate some pain in my knee. I look forward to the next video , pace yourself working on those bikes.

I forgot to add, the nsf caliper rocks up on the lower bolt as the pistons grab the disc when the front brake is applied , this puts pressure on a rod which in turn compressed the piston inside the caliper which activates the middle piston in the rear caliper (yes it has three) clever design but pans are quite often tools more than garage queens and road grime alone with water gunk them up after a while , making them stick there is a pin hole on the underside you need to keep clear of debris so any water wraps out ..: all very interesting but only if you have a pan ,, if you do ever get one check the rear brake for binding , cheers

@@geoffsmith1616 I nearly bought a Pan in 2010. I bought the Deauville as I thought it would be better in traffic. I'll report on the brakes and the progress on the Deauville's cooling system in the next video.

@riderramblings your right .. the new honda Nx500 seems to be doing well here in the UK.. the nx650 you may well remember as a single cylinder twin exhaust trail bike the new version if you haven't seen it is basically a face-lift of the cb500x which sold well for honda..and it may be the case that the cb500 x is no more? A budget commuter which is marketed to attack some green stuff also .. just over 6 grand gets you a new one . Anyway, take care, ride safe , speak again 👍

No good for me unfortunately as I have a mild case of arrhythmia and, notwithstanding the medication, wouldn't want to risk it. How much effect is the farmers' blockade having on Paris? From the TV pictures I've seen, they appear to have made themselves pretty comfortable on the arterial routes.

From my perspective, the Farmers' dispute has been a non-event. It has. though, caused mass panic in the political classes. The farmers in France are a very special case, even today. The political classes have realised that not all the voters live in the few large cities and that the farmer's vote matters a lot. I went for a complete cardiac check-up last year. Scans, EGC, stress tests, you name it - three weeks of testing, prodding and poking. The result? Apart from mild hyper tension (Amlodipine 5mg daily), I was told to go away and not come back for 15 years! 😁
