In this video tutorial, NailNovice shows you how to perfect your Acrylic (Liquid and Powder) bead ratio for long lasting nails that don't lift!
Learn the behaviour of a perfect acrylic ratio bead so you know what to look for when you're practising. Learn correct amounts of liquid to powder and the angles of your brush necessary to pick up different sized beads for easy to work with acrylic that is strong and doesn't lift!

NN, After watching this video, I sat down today and actually built a decent-looking nail, apex and all, because I was much more careful with my bead--I used the techniques for the size I wanted, I knew better what I was looking for in its composition, I was able to release it nicely, I was in control of it while I worked--and my result today is already many times better even than yesterday, and I've been working at this for several months. You made all the difference--I have the confidence to continue now, not dump all my stuff in the garbage. Miraculous. :) Thank you so much! XO

As soon as I finished watching the video, I got up to try this. I always thought I had to grab my bead (at no particular angle) and immediately apply it to the nail. No wonder my first tries have been so difficult and the finished product was all over the place. Thank you!

@@nailnovice8781 honestly, this was game changing. The difference is day and night and I now know that my monomer is too slow to react to my acrylic powders and that all of my brushes are too small. I never thought there was a science to nail artistry but there really is. I watched many videos after this one but this one was by far the most helpful.

I did the C3 Nail Tech course about 3 yrs ago, just so I could do my own nails. I passed but I was never ever confident. I have watched about 67 million videos on acrylic beads, ratios, placements etc and this is the first video where it is explained in so much detail that I actually understand it. Ive gone.... This is the most effectively communicated vid I've watched on the ratio of liquid to powder. A serious thank u! It's the one thing that's been holding me back from doing my own nails at home. I'm self taught and hav spent ALOT of money and time on supplies. I hated seeing it go to waste due to one step of the process. And I'm a very crafty girl! I make jewelry, and make miniatures and desl with alot of small details. And im mostly successful in these activities. With that being said, I can now be excited all over again about doing my own nails.

this was soooo incredibly detailed and full of details i've never heard in a liquid to powder ratio video!! i think my beads are slightllyyyy too wet. They're not extremely runny but they definitely don't keep their shape easily. This is going to help so much :))) Thanks so much!!

I’m always ready to learn from anyone acrylic and liquid techniques. I was told that the acrylic gets hot due to hot weather at the salon that I’m in. Temperature certainly does effect the beads. You will find you need to adjust your ratio in summer/winter, but knowing this technique will help you manage that more smoothly :)

I never really comment but this video was very helpful, thank you so much!. I just recently tried it out for the first time, since i usually work with gel. I think the biggest problem is that i waste way too much liquid because im afraid the acrylic gets stuck in my brush. Any tips for that? And also when i do white for example, i ruin my monomer way too fast since i tip my brush in more often due being afraid of acrylic in the brush :(

Thanks so much for commenting :) I think every beginner goes through more monomer than necessary when getting into the swing of things. Some really experienced techs use only a lint free wipe as their brush wipe. (I'm not there yet, lol). Acrylic shouldn't be getting into your brush if your ratio is correct and you are gently wiping after placing the bead and then again before re-entering the liquid. But again, perfect ratio takes a LOT of time. With white, you need to work slightly drier than any other colour as it is SO pigmented. White easily gets stuck in the bristles when working with it wet or normal ratio. Be sure to change your monomer as soon as it becomes cloudy from your white as contaminated monomer will effect the adhesion of your pink :)

I hadn't done nails since the mid 90s and I've been back at it slowly for a month now but struggling with the beads and liquid ratio. This just made me learn better than before about beads and liquid!!! Thanku! Your a rock star girl!!! Best advice I've found on utube about the beads and I wasnt even looking for this video, it just popped up while I was working on my stamps designs for nails, btw struggling with that...maybe a video in the future about nail stamp designs?!?! No , thank you! There are no nail classes out in Ohio that teach and explain proper acrylic application. I spent thousands of dollars for a nail school that I had to read about acrylic application through a book & I wasn’t allowed to practice acrylic app in class because the cosmetology teacher hated the smell of monomer
