They'd also asked me to be in charge of performance management And I know for certain that the reason they asked me to lead the project which got rid of performance ratings at Deloitte and instigated a performance system which I believe they're still using 9 years later The reason they asked me to lead that was because I had spent so much time complaining about the old system and the old way of doing ratings and the amount of time it took and the amount of ridiculous behind the scenes closed room debate that didn't help anybody do their job better at all So I think in that last case I was pretty clear that they were saying listen you seem to have some really strong convictions that there is a better way So we'll put you in charge and see what you can do What was about the new system that worked so well
