Performance of 'Les Miserables' Stopped by Protesters

Protesters locked themselves to the set during a London performance of "Les Miserables." While performers sang the iconic protest song, “Do You Hear The People Sing,” activists from Just Stop Oil waged a protest of their own. The disappointed audience watched as the curtain came down on the stage, leaving just the activists and the stage assistants. London’s Metropolitan Police said five people were arrested in connection with this protest.

It’s good that the audience got a full refund, but GODDAMMIT the protesters should be charged with either disorderly conduct and they should pay a fine for disrupting the show!

@@ellatino55True, but that doesn't cover the time, travel expense (gas, bus ticket, whatever) and for many, the frustration of missing the test of the show. If I had gone, I'd appreciate the refund, especially since the theater probably isn't required to provide it. I could even live with eating the cost of gas and time. But I would be so frustrated to see some of the show but not the rest. When I fall asleep during a movie, I absolutely must watch it again, at least from where I left off. Otherwise it will drive me nuts! 🤯🤯🤯

i was in the audience on wednesday night. luckily i was in london for a few days on a trip with my college and we got to see it the next day which was great and the cast were so amazing performing again after that all happened

Take it from someone with a job where you have to plan ahead for days you request off. Imagine if someone had planned to see this show long ago and got a day off from their job to see it. And the day they see it, it gets canceled because of these protesters. Even if this person gets a refuned, it probably won't matter, because this might have been the only chance they had to see this show, like if this was the only showtime, or they're working thier jobs on other showtime dates. Their one and only chance to see this show, is ruined, all because these guys ruined the show. It's unbelievable.
