The Albin Pump ALP series includes tube pumps and hose pumps for fluid flow solutions ranging from dosing or metering applications such as chemical processing or detergent dosing to transferring applications for water treatment or paper processing. In only a couple of minutes, the hose replacement process can be completed from pump hose removal to pump hose installation with minimal tools or special training. Proper hose replacement is required to provide a reliable, long-running peristaltic pump.
Tools & Materials Required:
• Albin Replacement Hose
• Albin Grease
• Drill
• Spanner Wrench
Hose Removal Steps:
1. Disconnect the pump from the power supply for safety.
2. Remove all fasteners securing the front cover and set aside hardware and cover.
3. Remove all fasteners securing the front bracket and set aside hardware and bracket.
4. If necessary, rotate the roller assembly with a spanner wrench so there is a free roller (not in contact with the hose material) and pressing roller (actively compressing the hose). At this time, only one roller should be in contact with the hose and will be located opposite the porting.
5. Remove the inserts from the inlet and outlet supports.
6. Holding the hose at the inlet (uppermost port) region, begin to draw the hose outward from the casing. The hose should move freely and not be obstructed by roller contact.
7. Use a spanner wrench to begin turning the rotor (and in turn, the rollers) in the direction of the outlet (lower port) while continuing to separate the hose from the casing. When the contact roller is rotated sufficiently, the hose should be fully ejected from the casing.
Hose Installation Steps:
1. Verify the hose assembly (consisting of the hose, insert, and clamp) is ready for installation.
2. Bend the hose into a C-shape and begin to insert into the casing from the front.
3. Secure the inserts into the mating geometry on the inlet and outlet port supports. Ensure the inserts are fully seated into the supports. At this stage, the hose will be flush with the casing in all locations except where the farthest-most roller is located.
4. Add grease to the inner region of hose surface that will come in contact with the rollers to reduce friction.
5. As shown in the video, turn the rotor and press the hose into the casing following the direction of rotation. You may need to turn the rotor multiple rotations until the hose is seated entirely.
6. Replace the front bracket and tighten the fasteners.
7. Replace the front cover and tighten the fasteners.
