Background Info:
This aoe2 lords of the west build order is a variation of the Cicero fast castle in to unique unit build order but with one less villager and a few small alterations. This Full Missionary play aims to get out monks and Missionaries as fast as possible while having a castle to break into your opponents base (and get the unique tec) which gives Missionaries +1 range and faster conversions. Spanish are obviously the best for this as other civs dont get Full Missionaries but spanish also have a great fast castle constructing speed (+40%)
There are lots of other aoe2 fast castle build orders on the channel that including FC unique units, fast castle eagles, fast castle boom and siege tower hop into castle drop. Fast castle strategies on arena into some kind of aggression is probably my favorite type of arena strategy

This Full Missionary play aims to get out monks and Missionaries as fast as possible while having a castle to break into your opponents base (and get the unique tec) which gives Missionaries +1 range and faster conversions.
Full Missionary build order:
*6 food
*4 wood
*Rest food
*25 Pop Up
*market black smith
*1 Vill + loom
*click up to castle
*Move 10 to stone
*rest wood / gold
*7-8 forward to construct castle
*when you have 650 stone move stone vills to gold and wood
*2-3 monasteries 1 monk to get relics
*Make tons of donkies (Full Missionary)

I have chronic migraine, and video games are actually a thing I have to measuredly do like drugs or drinking. Staying up till 3 am playing games is a great way to fuck up my sleep and be in pain the next day. Glad your headaches are better!

If you can’t figure out how to beat it, or couldn’t be bothered thinking any other way than your preferred KZfaq Meta coach tells you to, then just admit it. You’re trying to tell me an automated system that punishes out of the box thinking when people shout “Witch, burn her at the stake” is democracy. There’s a reason the dev’s lifted the ban less than 24 hours later. What a joke. People who don’t play the way you want and don’t automatically fall rankin in file into agreeing on Reddit are also part of this community. Any decent democracy is actually representative of the wider community rather than demonising minorities. What you’re suggesting is something very different to democracy. Nice chatting with you 👍

Exactly, they could make it like the water on Socotra. However, that doesn't fix anything for Budapest, Yucatan, Highlands, Four Lakes or Frigid Lake, where this same strat is also OP.

I'm actually shocked that they merely responded with "interesting". You have paid for this product and by extension customer service and that's how the y respond? There has to be something in the terms and service that offers you some kind of legal recourse. It arguably may not be worth your time, but I'd feel compelled to follow it up on principle.

If devs don't want games to use these strategies they just need to put a 1 hour time limit per game. (I don't agree with this solution but either a game can last a long time or it can't)

In theory, it should be reasonably counterable. Scouts and Eagles will take out the Missionaries pretty easily. Archers will also be effective if you can get enough and don't let the Missionaries catch any stragglers. And before you say "Bloodlines", there's no way for the Spanish to afford that with the build in the description (Market and Blacksmith in Feudal) without slamming on the brakes (not enough wood).

It is the devs fault, they should nerf the strat, f.e. spanish cannon galleon in particular, and not ban players who use the civs to their full potential

It's genuinely a hard thing to nerf. It's not civ dependent - of course Spanish are the best but if Spanish cannon galleons were nerfed the strat runs just fine with Portuguese (ballistics cannon galleons) and with Turks (extra range).

Definitely the Devs aren't reviewing the games. I guarantee the map designer of Oasis probably sleeps well at night knowing that his beautiful map is being utilized to its full potential and its exactly how it was intended to be played. I listened to that Town Center podcast and Viper said "interesting" with a smile. I still remember when only 3 Civilizations in the game had the ability to cut trees with Onagers AND you couldn't hear it 🤣😂 Devs suck and nerf every fun thing about the game DE is watered down.

Ok - let me see if this is accurate. The NOM is a strategy where the player 1. Wins water, 2. Loads vils and army on transport ships, 3. Gather, Destroy, and Disable all of the resources on the map, 4. Slow push from the middle after the resources are spent. Why is this griefing? It seems to me this is just playing the long game, not trolling.

It's not a good strat. You just end up walling them into the middle of the map, trading until you have infinite gold, then it's just a massive stale mate. The whole premise of it doesn't work because the team on land can just long trade indefinitely. Easily the least fun strat I've played against.

@@sicklad21 The thing is you could always just resign if you don't find it fun or want to move on about your day. Theres nothing forcing you to play against it. Griefing examples would be like attack grounding your ally or palisade walling your allies TC. Not playing a strategy that causes annoyance. To me its a pretty slippery slope to ban players based off "whats annoying" to play against. Opens up roads for banning based off bias. Not really a good model for gaming.

from what I've gathered in the comments it seems to be, only much longer than that. Sounds to me like it is antigame and a huge waste of time, kind of fun at the expense of the other players, to be honest. But I'm not sure I got it right

Banning is BS. they should not ban unless they have reviewed the game and opened dialogue with the account owner being banned. It's just like canceling a KZfaq account because people reported it and nobody actually checks if the channel broke any rules. Cancel Culture is making everything worse.

@@PoopLord I'd be all for adding a separate ladder for long games, but I think most people are playing this game in the hour-or-so pockets of free time they have between work/sleep/etc. Using a strategy that takes 3-4 hours just makes the game inaccessible to most players.

Full disclosure, I considered doing this to you guys when you pulled the cannon galley strat on oasis against me 2v2 because it was such a time waste. Even though we won it was ball ache, which was the point. Couldn't be bothered going through with it, didn't find out about the channel until later. Personally I'm all for meme strats (especially the aggressive ones), but when the game goes for 4 hours it stops being fun.

I might come off as a hater but I've played/seen a few games like this (such as the legend of wall I think it was) and they're truly infuriating to play against. Just play a normal game man, you have many other ways to play that require more skill and are actually fun for all parties involved. Imagine coming to your home after a long day of work, playing your only game of the day before you gotta do other stuff and you have to play against this...

To be honest, he deserved that, maybe not a life ban but 2 weeks would do just fine. I haven't even heard of Nom until now but it seems like a cancerous strat to me, which ruins game for everyone. So, the devs did great work to clean the mm. If you want to play Nom you can play non-ranked games.
