Simple. Eikichi is obviously a straight guy who, depending on the order you went in the temples / dungeons, is dating someone already. Meanwhile, picking Jun would seem like a more serious choice because it’s more believable than picking Eikichi.

It shows that even if you choose who he dates in IS, Tatsuya canonically has feelings for Lisa, Maya, and Jun. But not Eikichi.

Plus to the fact that is going to happen something to her depending of some choices that the player must do. Sorry if there is something that you don't understand. I don't speak english. 😅

tbh im still stunned we went from this fairly polite stuff in 1999 to whatever the hell is going on in the later games my jaw dropped when yosuke asked if its safe to share a tent with a bisexual person... edit: * sigh * what happened here - yes persona 2 has some transphobic npcs but theyre optional npcs, not the worst transphobia ive seen of this series, and tbh i just straight up forgot about them - people are defending p4 for being a product of its time when this game is ten years older and completely accepting of homosexuality and bisexuality - deadass thought we were getting past homophobia, why are people saying sleeping in the same tent as your bi friend is dangerous what the fuck

It would've been fine if they didn't cut out the option to romance him, since him being closeted and dating the protagonist would've come full circle. Once you start dating a party member, if you do a demon/shadow negotiation with said party member, they hint at their relationship with Tatsuya and their portraits blush
