Ngl, I think Akechi's killshot on "Ren" is done better here than the game. How it takes on the red background of an all out attack finisher combined with "Ren's" brains being blown out the other side. Also Akechi doing a "I'm here to rescue you." psyche out was great too. It felt more like something Akechi would do, taking a brief moment to savor the kill.

Honestly, the best thing about the anime IMO is how Akechi was handled, his dynamic with Ren is WAY more fleshed out here and you can see it affects them both.

@@ryojifan notice how I said "before her rebirth", I know her Persona evolves through maxing the confidant and getting the true end, all confidant Personas do that. My point was Cendrillion starts as a fake Persona to "Kasumi" before her real awakening as Sumire, THEN she evolves over time

It is so weird hearing Ren talk. But he does have a nice voice there. Will you make another one of these with funny scenes or more of him interacting with others? Im still weirded out that Ren didnt emote at all when Makoto wigged out and grabbed him while in Sojiro's house. Does he not react much? Ive never seen the full anime.

It's really the Voice actor who does the grunts and screaming in the game And yes, Ren does not act up much cause he can't if he Emotes to how he has been treated he'll be sent to Juvie due to that bastard Shido

@@shelbybayer200 Well I meant with friends. When going to try to talk to Futaba (did they know her name then? I forgot already) Makoto got scared and pulled on Ren's shirt, then fell down and, in the game anyway, clung on to his knee for 5 minutes and he was just standing there like nothing was happening. I guess that was a time when he got summoned to the Velvet Room? Also, that would have been a cool spot to turn into a horror game.

Sometimes I wish they made 2 versions of the dialogue. One where everyone calls Ren "This guy" because of the edited name. And another version which simply calls him Ren or his last name. And of course. When you pick an option. Ren says it himself. Beep Boop

Dude! thank you so much for uploading this video, and the previous four videos you posted on the Persona 5 anime! For the longest time now I've purposely held off from watching this anime simply because of how people would talk about it and clips of the All-Out Attacks and Sae's fight scene, like people would talk so much crap about this anime like how the animation is garbage or things along those lines and sure maybe it does have those moments but I really shouldn't have so quickly blindly believed people without actually watching this anime myself. It's thanks to you and your videos that I will be watching this anime for myself soon so again I thank you for making these videos! Even if this anime really does have it's bad moments, I'd say these videos of yours disprove what people say, that this animation is completely garbage the whole way through (I disagree with those people) and I honestly feel as if not a lot of people gave this anime a chance and judging by the clips from your videos on this anime I'd say a lot of people judged it just by clips and things people would say online instead of actual watching for themselves. I'm sure this show has it's own flaws but I don't think it's as bad as people have been telling me for so long!.

@@sdbzfan1 theres one ending in royal where you accept maruki's reality and akechi stays alive after being brought back to life by maruki, which is basically the good bad ending. although akechi doesnt want to accept maruki's new reality, he wants to destroy maruki's palace and instead choose his own path, even if it means dying, which in this case death is guaranteed. which i find very sad

Is obvious that the plan is to left it ambigious, isn't it wierd that everyone is always "No... Akechi...it can't be...." But never straight up say that he died? That way Akechi can keep coming back in future spin-offs whitout having to explaing anything.

I saw this animation before playing the game (never owned a PlayStation, have played it now on Switch but didn't think I ever would at the time), however the animation I saw was on Netflix or Hulu (can't remember exactly which), which only had through the bad ending. When the show cut to its final credits right after Akechi killed Ren (it showed the final credits alongside a scene of Akechi walking down a hallway), I was so confused that that was it. Had to read on Wikipedia that there was additional material/that it was a setup with the MC still around somehow afterwards. Didn't look too much into the details until playing the game myself, though.

It kind of sucks how shoddy the Persona animes have been over the years (save for the P3 movies, I guess? I only watched the first one a few years ago and I remember nothing about it tbh.) but ya know, I'd rather have this than nothing. I've watched the P4 anime like three times, and despite how crummy it can be, I still love it. Besides, it's always great to see these mostly-silent protagonists get some well-needed characterization.
