Honestly, Yu is speaking facts, the spike difficulty in all SMT games are fucking wild. As a new SMT fan and a long time Persona 4 fan too. I'm not a fan of grinding (pause) but it's kinda fun to me just getting exp while just chilling ........i have no idea where i was going with this, i was gonna say da'at is S tier but i got sidetracked lol

I love Tartarus in p3r it’s fun, the monads are enjoyable, the mini bosses can be super interesting and the treasures you can find around feel meaningful considering it’s the main way to earn money though it can be a bit stale later on with not much to do other than monads and sometimes the reaper but even then beating those two is super rewarding and satisfying

I'm still playing through the game so I don't know how the other blocks look like but the Yabadabadoooshah Bloc can get yeeted straight into the Marianna Trench. I hate that block, especially the layout with 3 staircases, it messes with my eyes and my perception of depth too much. I can barely navigate some of the parts while running and I already had like 3 golden hands escape me because of the goddamn stairs! Thank you for commin to my TedTalk.

I think vanilla Persona 3 the difficulty of tartarus is what made it fun. I especially appreciate that the Reaper was something to fear Persona 3 is still the only game that did the Reaper right. For the dungeon design maybe the vanilla persona 3 only had one design but Reload maybe has six? I want to say it’s either the third or fourth designer actually cooked a bit but for the most part they’re all different flavors of ass. Reloads dungeon actually gets wider making it easier to run past things and therefore easier. Remember when shadows try to block your path ? They still do in reload but only in the first design has claustrophobic hallways. Vanilla P3 still has the one dungeon design but Reload and it’s six but for the most part they’re all just bad look at if not actively painful, I guess technically I don’t look at the shit because I just teleport around anyway. So I feel like I explore even less in reload than I did in vanilla anyway

I wouldn’t care as much about the missing features if the other versions were widely available without Emulation with FES still not being on modern hardware and Portable getting a port so bad people consider the PSP version superior

you aren't wrong the game seems a bit easier to me at least and i am playing on hard by the way. After i finish my current playthrough i will play on new game plus with mods and hopefully i will find something that makes my game harder and something that resets level so i won't be around level 70 at the start of the game. By the way do a video about persona 4 hot takes if you haven't done that already.

Tartarus in reload is great, if you listen to the new tartarus music outside of the game you can see they are kinda different, Kitajoh really made them different. i played it on merciless and it was kinda easy, but man i already had 200+ hours of FES+Portable and i know exactly how to get overpowered. and i think Tartarus is an S tier, I find tartarus addictive, I like how this game has almost no tutorial and it leaves you free after the first blocks, something that I found annoying in P5 palaces is how the game puts you on a track, I felt that all the palaces had giant tutorials, useless dialogue that disrupted the rhythm of the gameplay, stupid puzzles that you either just need to turn on third eye to solve or that party members give the answer right away or are just easy, I really prefer tartarus.

Kotane isn't wrong about Mementos/ Palaces' difficulty being compared to Tartarus. While I haven't played P3R just yet, I can easily say that Mementos is a joke after a while. Any time I go there shadows run from me rather than pursue me. Then Shido's palace was just long af and I only died once. It was off a bad play where I needed healing and didn't revive Makoto who had the SP to use Mediarama. He used Tyrant Wave after I revived Mona who couldn't use Mediarahan. But the second time around, I won. I'm sure Tartarus is gonna give me a challenge at first when I start P3R.

Just like most persona games, everything becomes easier once you unlock more abilities that can conserve/restore sp. Like honestly the only thing holding you back early is running out of sp and once you reach the midgame, you either have an insanely broken phys persona that needs no sp to function, or you simply manage to obtain so many sp items it doesnt really matter how you use them any more.

@@mirkcurry5532 Like the persona I fused late game with Special Treatment, Raphael. Since he had Arms Master, I could use physical skills as much as I wanted.
