I was out from India since 1969. I wished to come back to India and settle in India. I tried to invest in India in 1997 but I was robbed by friends , Chartered Accountants and all . I thought of having a retired life in India , but found impossible . I regret for returning from Africa to India and now I am settled in USA. We are free to live , work if we can with out any interference from any one or exploiting by any one. Integrity, honesty, love and compassion are here !

This is not 1997. Things have changed a lot in India. I came to USA in 2006...stayed till 2021 . Returned to India in 2021 and it is more than 1 years and I feel I have done the right decision .

I had studied in the US more than a decade ago and really wanted to settle in the US; however, issues like visa sponsorship and ease of getting GC later are all mired in the 19th century type and is broken. I can agree with him, especially when you’ve kids for whom India is a big no no for settling after being schooled overseas ( especially in white countries). Even if school is top notch, when they come home, the environment is different. Same goes for working professionals; even if salary is good, other issues like office environment, long extended work hours , unwanted politics ( I’m not saying there is no office politics in the western countries), lack of infrastructure like roads, landscapes , water like the west , all adds up!

Not just American Dream, all other dreams such as Canadian Dream, UK Dream, Australian Dream and New Zealand Dream are a sham. You hit the mark, 500%. I may be called biased or narrow-minded, but my observation is the white race countries' people are completely self-absorbed. It is all about their own survival and they never consider other's happiness. Respect and being kind without an agenda, are "strange" qualities for them and they view these as somehow the person is being weak. All the top positions are held by them, so the culture of the organisations reflect how they are. I have experienced these things unfortunately, and though no one else may agree with me, after your "eyes are opened" to the reality, you realise, that earlier Europeans were coming into our countries to exploit us and make us serve them. Now, with their dwindling population, they are inviting us to go their countries and serve them there. Only the people who become like them, feel happy in that culture, not others. Other than a bit of money that can be saved, your life otherwise comes to a stand still.
@Universal-g6c
@Universal-g6c 3 жыл бұрын
I’m not criticising you or attacking , but consider these points based on what you’ve mentioned 1) We are required to be like them- nothing wrong with this as one is going on their countries which are developed than the immigrants home country. 2) You’ve said that all top positions are given to white ppl; do you think going on top in country like India is easy in ones life time considering various factors like politics, competition which is abnormal in India, be it job, education, career or even getting married.. Only those select few who are so called IIT IIM types which is unnecessarily overrated get initial entry . I recently suggested one engineering student with top academics to try applying in global schools than wasting time on CAT and instead try 740+ GMAT or 330 GRE. 3) Your last line says ‘ except save money’. Agreeclige comes to a halt point after some time abroad, but ‘Money ‘is the most important thing for majority for ppl in India ( again exceptions to those from wealthy background) , 90 % aim for money and saving if possible. Again from my personal experience, even it’s not easy to save money for all even abroad even after USD or Euro conversion, still it’s a great cushion 4) Social, political, physical infrastructure issues in India are pathetic considering major metro cities, even Ondia is no way cheaper now a days. I donno from where in India you hail, buying a 2 room flat in city like Mumbai and near suburbs is more expensive than buying a house in major cities in the west. Apologies for a long verbatim

It depends what kind of a person you are, you may well amalgamate or you could be a misfit. But, 99% do not wznt to come back. There human life is considered valuable un like here. Those who would like to leave the white world would rather choose hell than going back.

I hear such comments mostly from people who have never worked abroad or never got a visa extension. Which category do you belong to? I lived in Canada for a few years now, I miss India but when I go back I realise its not the same India that I miss as I dont like what I see. So in spite of the privilage to work from anywhere I had to come back to Canada as I felt people around me are always angry and frustrated for no reason.. And hello thats the place where I spent 27 years of my life. They are my known faces. You wont know unless you face.. I am a Canadian now and I always dream of going back forever but I dont think I ever can.

@@abirbiswas3551 I second your statements. Any one who leaves India, gets accustomed to the life in said countries, would not like to come back. There is rule of law, and value for human life there, unlike here.

Omg. this is my problem now. I live in Ireland and love it. But there is something in me wants to go back. My husband and I have good jobs here and live a comfortable life. We have 2 kids aged 8 & 2. Me and my husband both want to go back. But we worry about how will we survive there. The education system, traffic, business everything seems very complicated to say the least. Can anybody please give some advise on how can we lead a comfortable life (not expecting luxurious) there. I would appreciate advise especially from people who already moved back there.Thank you.

Hi, I’m facing the same challenge. As a working woman my personal life was better in India - driver, cook, support system. I want to be back to India but can’t decide - should I prioritise my happiness, daughter’s future , husband’s job or my old parents wish. I feel so stuck in life! Btw why exactly couldn’t your kids adapt to Indian education? How old are your kids? Was the schooling too competitive for them?
@devaalwyn361

Hi Richa, I have 3 children elder at that time was 9, 7 and 4. My daughter was used to the western education . The schools are easy here no punishment. Even if you don't do home work, still we have another day or week. some times they look in to the issues. In India still teacher Beat, pinch, yell.. She got frightened. She felt we abandoned her. Also the Language, peer children steel, here if you leave your pen on the table somebody will pick it up and ask. There, just for a moment something is on the floor that belongs to the world. I probably should do a video on this topic.

@@devaalwyn361 thanks for your response- I can relate to the challenges stated by you. European education is quite relaxed & it can be a major shift for kids to adapt to the competitive Indian way of teaching. Kids can be really cruel at times & peer pressure can be too much for kids to handle. Perhaps a video on the topic would be helpful

As you asked as a brother. I will till something very clear. DON'T DILUTE YOUR DREAMS. Hold on to this statement it will take u to any heights. Ok. I came from lower middle class and the first job in India I was paid. 2800 Rs/month. And I had to pay back my educational loan which I couldn't meet with that salary. From there I had to raise my standards so my opted to fly Abroad. It wasn't easy those days. You need clear set of action Plans with undivided attention and focus. THINK WITH YOUR MIND AND TAKE DECISION WITH YOUR HEART. If you feel Canada is your dream go for it but be clear how long you will stay. Stay true to your decision. Hope this helps.

@@BlunderBoyNehruJ see challenges are everywhere, just that the nature of these challenges differs. Sometimes it’s important to come out of your comfort zone to achieve bigger things in life. Don’t worry about the social life, you will find friends in Canada too. You have a computer science degree - technical talent has value everywhere. Add value to your degree by doing more jobs relevant courses. Do not move to Canada just because your father is saying, listen to your heart. You are young and should explore what you truly like. Don’t be too harsh on yourself, you will find your path. In my view it is easier to get a jib in India than abroad so choose wisely. All the best

most of the NRI fail to return , i failed in 2016 too but its ok to fail joyfully my case i learn out of my first failure I was not prepared with plan what to do there and also no financial plan Do you know people who lost job in abroad and need leave country without any choice they manage to go and settle india so it is keeping back door open is problem ? When one is in abroad he had different emotions towards parents , nation, food , festivals , hate of current job but this sort out within 2-3 months then emotions get change So in short kids get adjust ( of course with some challenges but they adopt easily ) who dont get adopted are adults So what is solution , one should not try ? No , one must have string vision of return he / she should not drive only by emotions but by a mission / passion My story is same ll trying again second time soon and i love failing in trying for myself i dont mind to fail for my own desires i fail joyfully somebody said try till u succeed so why not in this case I am not driving by emotions and letting my passion / vision to drive me my nation my festivals my people and my own world in short Proud in own crowd the author is not failed person he is failed if he dont try again and again

2020’s SURVEY IS 43% NRI LEFT THE FOREIGN SOIL (mostly from gulf countries) DUE TO HOME SICKNESS; have regretted their decision after the petro dollars were vanished…. European & American migrated to India regretted when their children have difficulties learning Hindi & returned. The bottom line is: JUST TAKE YOUR TIME TO ADJUST YOURSELF… it could be 2-3-4 or more years… but; Indian lifestyle maybe comfortable to you (if you’ve enough to survive in inflation or settlement is in your favor… otherwise you would be of nowhere! The days are gone when help, support or cooperation you can expect.., when they’re surviving on hand to mouth

@@ravishingravi Sir, I’m living in America for 33 years & now retired & 73 years old. We (me & my wife) will love to spend our golden years in India & have bought our retirement home in Pune too. For years & years we were missing our India; but couldn’t decide because of children. Now they’re grown up; moved out & they’re on their own fit. They’ll love to visit us but they won’t be comfortable to move as they’ve adopted the American lifestyle (they’re Americanized)…. But we’re now free enough to live in India; as we’ve wished for years. The bottom line is: I was misunderstood. Migration is not easy as time goes by & it’s also not easy if we’re not well prepared. That’s why we took years to take decisions about who should & who shouldn’t move… when children were small; it was our decision to bring them here.. now it’s their decision to stay here.
