Imagine you were just a minnow minding your own business and then a giant net comes out of no-where and scoops you up. Next thing you know your being torn apart by a Gar. By the way I love watching the Gar grow!

Alligator gar are my favorite fish. I love catching them and they taste good as well. When it floods you can catch small needle nose gars ever where probably because that's when they spawn.The gator gars tho are alot of fun to catch. They are huge and alot more fun than regular fish!

Such a cute little fish and looks great while getting fed. That's heaps of minnows mate, you have caught them so easily with a landing net. No doubt, he will grow big if kept getting fed such healthy food. Great share and have a good day.

I used to have a black crappie and largemouth bass in my aquarium growing up! Loved it! Very carnivorous!

They’ve got to be the coolest pets to have, might I suggest a monthly gar video? Just so we can see them grow it’ll obviously take decades for them to fully grow but it would be cool to see them go through the early stages of life. 👍👍👍

Very cool! I fish here in Tennessee on Tenn river,pigeon river etc and see tons of huge Gar. They get huge but never appear agressive. Looking forward to seeing more vids of them growing! Thanks for taking time to share! Take care!

People don't realize it, but fish can actually be very affectionate pets! I used to feed live fish bait to my friends Oscar, and he would get really excited whenever I came over to visit....He'd splash around, and his colors would brighten the moment I walked in.

When I bought my Alligator Gar, it's about the same size as yrs, I fed mine with Hikari Food Sticks Pellets since then. It's his favorite food. 🙂

In my youth, I did that with pikes. When my pet shop run out on live bearer baby's, I had to bring them back from where I got them. They start eating each other if not.

Wow that is so cool . How long does it take for them to get to 7 or 8 feet ? I live between Sam Rayburn and Toledo Bend lakes in Texas I have seen them sunning on the surface up to 10 maybe 12 feet long , but bowfishing has taken out a lot of the really big ones , real shame . I have had them circle me like a shark while diving and seen very big females nesting . They are very cool fish . I was very happy to see a limit of one a day put on fishing for them and some people are starting to catch and release and that is good . I have heard they can live over 100 years .

They can grow up to 18 inches in a few months. And I started off with 3 and one of them ate the other 2, so dont be surprised if one comes up missing and the other ones stomach is 20xs the size its supposed to be. Mine ate the other 2 in the same day so I thought he was going to die lol. they were all the same size

They're so cute ,they get big. I rescued a 12 inch gar, did a live feeding on my Channel also, definitely fun to watch.

So cool seeing baby ones, i saw a dead one stuck on a boat dock after a flood. It was easily about 3ft, it was so creeeppyyyyy
