It's cuz maldhound has the charisma of a comedian. He's such a fresh content creator for the game. He really just trolls the game as a whole, which is definitely needed

There were several, I would say, rather large mistakes/misplays during this episode. However, I try to never hold it against a Magic player in the middle of a 4 player commander game to forget a trigger once in a while.

Couple of missed triggers I noticed, the first time NerdGirl attacked Maldhound with Lathril, she didn't make her elf tokens, and when touch the spirit realm targeted Niv, Maldhound missed 4 damage triggers, he got the ones from casting his spells, drawing from Niv and Emeritus, but not the actual draws from the spells themselves. Love seeing Maldhound play some Commander, always makes for a fun time.

As soon as she dropped the archer and misread it I knew it was never gonna trigger lol. I've lost a game because I thought it read like she did but it's ANY other creature.

I had stopped watching EDH games for a minute, maybe because of overload. But lately I find myself frantically and furiously clicking any gameplay video where Maldhound shows up. His humor ads layers to watching the game 😂 Veggie is hilarious too, hope you guys get more games together

Really like the energy of the table and the guests consistently. Tons of spice and good builds but without salt at interaction or getting swung into. Keep up the great games!

Little funfact about elvish pioneer. It was the first magic card ive ever got from a booster pack. Therefore is has a special place in my heart. The one ive got 20 years ago hangs on my wall in a frame. For our 10th anniversary my wife got me a foil version of the one i have. Now they both hang on the wall.

the lathril ability, glad it was noted. the game certainly plays out differently if she lives that combat. blim forcing niv to tap out on their upkeep is absolute genius.

Great game! I especially liked the Enchantment destruction agreement between NerdGirl and Maldhound. Always nice to create an advantage for just yourself for the rest of the game! (edited to remove spoiler)

I think Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind was one of my first Commander decks! I stopped playing it because I thought the Curiosity combo was a bit too competitive for my local group, but seeing a similar deck in action, it makes me want to play a dragon wizard again!

Some of my favorite parts of watching these games, is how many missed triggers there are. Not even 2 minutes after playing Poison-Tip Archer, she misses its trigger when she sacrifices a zombie.

I feel like Maldhound went through the classic Big Dragon™ experience. Get dumpstered on super hard in the early game, hemmorage through the middle, and still get immediately curb stomped as soon as you play your Big Dragon™. I've had it happen to me many times when playing Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm.

9:35 this is the problem I had with Lathril. I really tried, very hard to make the deck work, but every time I got close to 10 elves, there was a boardwipe of some sort, I never once activated her so I took her apart and used the lands to make a Baba lysaga deck, which I'm now considering taking apart to make Dina Soul steeper. Veggie tapping his stuff to the left is so triggering lol. yeah, you also gain the life you drain, which is why I really liked the commander in the first place, this is your favorite deck and you didn't know? magic is hard I guess.

How can Nerdgirl tap her permanents in response to something leaving play if they all leave play as she dies? They all leave or they don't I would think.

They did not leave play because of death. They left play and made more elfs from an ability she activated in response to the attack. Hope this helps! :)

15 power is swinging at her, she declares no blocks (because of Master Warcraft). During the declare blockers step, before damage is dealt, she bounces Nadier with Wirewood. Nadier triggers, and creates 5 elves, then priority passes around again (because you cannot proceed to combat damage step until everyone has passed priority, agreeing to change steps/phases). When priority comes back to NerdGirl, she is able to tap the Elves to Lathril's activated ability.

Is it just me or did Mald miss a load of ping triggers? The ping ability and draw ability are two separate abilities, so for example when he casts Faithless Looting, he draws and pings off of casting the spell, but also pings twice for the 2 cards he drew via the spell itself. I think I noticed a few times he missed this, I wonder if it would've made the game much different.
