My dog died on 09-23-2021, so almost two months have gone by. I'm still struck by how quiet the house is when I get home from work. She is not there to hear about my day, nor I her's (she was quite the conversationalist). My favorite place used to be the front porch where I would sit and watch while she roamed the yard. I no longer go out there...I have no reason to. Her toys are in a bag by my chair in the living room and I desperately miss playing "rat" with her. Once in a while I will find a piece of her fur on my clothes and that makes me smile until I realize once again she is gone. I'm tired of the heartache but it was absolutely worth having her for seven short years. Thank you for this poem, it does help.

Please keep doing this. I lost one of my 3 English bulldogs last weekend suddenly she was 6. I'll never get over it.

Tiger showed up 15 years ago and left on 4/28/22. Lymphoma cancer. He's buried underneath the large tree I can see from my window. Miss him dearly.

My granddaughter just lost her pet bunny Oakley. She is heartbroken and can't stop crying. I remember that pain so well. Prayers to my granddaughter and I know Oakley will be waiting at Rainbow Bridge. To all who have lost beloved pets, I know it's like losing a member of the family or a best friend. The words of the poem are very reassuring and comforting. My dog is 4yrs old. I never thought I could love anyone or anything as much as I do him. I watch dog tributes to remind me that our relationship is relatively temporary which causes me to hug him and tell him how much I love him more often so when the time comes to part ways he will know that our bond is real and will continue forever. @@thepetcemetery Thank YOU for the lovely response to my comment. I was feeling Riley's loss more heavily yesterday as it marked 9 months of trying to move on without her. I truly believe there will be a wonderful reunion when I go to meet her, and the dozens of my fur babies I have loved and lost before her...I remember each one's name and face. I am grateful that her suffering was short and her restoration eternal. Thank you again. Your caring matters greatly.

My Tripod departed yesterday, and in the night I dreamed about her, at the end of the dream I came to realization that she indeed passed away, by the fact that I was seeing her grave where I buried her yesterday. I couldn't stop crying when I woke up from the dream.

I lost my pugeranian Yoda in January and today would have been his 7th birthday. It's only just after one here, but I've been really sad about it most of the month. This is a lovely poem and helps quite a lot.

My darling cat went home on Saturday (3rd July ‘21) he was 19 and it was time to go, but the heartbreak I’m feeling is physical. I miss him every moment of my day, even though I know he is in a much happier loving place and I know I will see him (and all my other passed beasties) again, when I go home. I got 2 newborn ttens in the dumpster last April 1. I syringe fed them sleep beside a small pail w small beddings. Yesterday one died I'm so heartbroken and cried a lot

What a beautiful poem. I lost my wee baby Shih Tzu Marti 5 weeks ago and I have spent most of the days crying. I can't seem to get used to her being gone. I still have her brother and sister who came from the same litter (not a professional breeder). They miss her too I can tell. All I can see is her lying on the vet's table after I laid her down

I loss my baby mini pin of 16 years one month from today. It breaks my heart.. i made some choices in life back in 2005 which now i dont regret doing it cause i wouldn't have never met my baby. So i feel i made the right choice by us meeting each other. She was my mama, daughter, friend, my soulmate. She gave me so much love. It breaks my heart i dont have her by me anymore

Rima- I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I feel your pain. My dog Munch was hit by a car too, and no matter how hard I try, I can't forgive myself. I miss him so much! I am not exaggerating when I say that a part of me died with him that night. He was my best friend. 😭😭

I lost my dog 2 weeks ago he was almost 17y he was diagnosed with Liver cancer over 2y ago the last 6 months he was really suffering (i feel guilty that i didn't put him down 6 months earlier) one day b4 i put him down he cried out loud in pain and run away, he run so fast (he could barely walk or get up ) he run towards the high street , i believe he wanted to kill himself!? My wife was able to run after him and catched him before he got hit by a car. That day i decided to let him go and end his suffering. he was part of my life for over 16y i miss him every minute
