Here are some other things to know/tips for prospective tarantula keepers: 1. Learn the differences between Old World and New World tarantulas. So many times people have asked if an Old World species is a good beginner tarantula, which they aren't, because the person never spent the time to understand them. 2. Don't overthink keeping tarantulas. They are super easy to care for and the good beginner species are nearly bulletproof. 3. Care sheets that mention specific temperatures and humidity for a tarantula are bogus and shouldn't be bothered with. As long as your house doesn't fall below 68° F and doesn't go above 89° F for any extended period of time you will be fine for any tarantula. As for humidity, tarantulas either need it dry or moist depending on the species. Specific humidity percentages are useless. 4. Join the forums on Arachnoboards. The forum is incredibly lively and you can learn anything you want to know about tarantulas from the people there. 5. Avoid buying tarantulas from large scale pet stores. Online breeders and people at expos are usually much more reputable and take better care of their animals.

Damn the temperatures is a big problem in my house. In the summer it climbs up to 100° F and more. Winter is even worse.

I feel you. We never thought we would end up 40. only reason we don't buy more is the prices, The ones on my wish list are over 100€ for a sling,and even worse ,they are often still wild caught specimens,which I don't want to support..... but we will wait patiently

I loved this video and I must agree that they are addicting after a while. My Brachypelma albopilosum is adorable because she's antisocial. I see her furry, silly little body scattering around late at night. She seems to know when I am looking at her! My little Caribena Versicolor is very delicate looking. Her abdomen is turning red and she' fascinating to have in my collection of two!

Tip for anyone that may not already know... When keeping your feeders make sure to bin off any dead within the feeders enclosure, they STINK! If not removed and disposed of. Other than that great video kat keep em coming.

Will it bite you?? Yea sure, just don't stick your fingers in its mouth. That's what I tell people, lmbo. Makes some mad but hey, you ask a stupid question, you get a stupid answer. Dogs are more likely to bite than a spider. Cats are more likely to scratch. Great video cat. Tyfs God bless you

The biggest mistake I made for the longest time was keeping my slings with way too little ventilation. That cannot be understated how important it is not just for adults, but especially for slings! I lost so many when I really shouldn't have because of it. There's no such thing as too much ventilation, but make sure you have enough water in your substrate!

@LPFSuleyman5 жыл бұрын
good points and also if your intention is to breed them eventually you must check out how many babies each species would give because lets say if you get prepared to only take care of 50 or 100 and the species you have would give you alot more like 500 then you will have a trouble so its best to do the best research that is possible, keeping them is all about how much you research, research is essential in the hobby..and other point i would like to make based on the handling is let's say you have old world species which doesn't have urticating hairs then even if it's docile it's best not to handle because since they lack the hair mechanism as self defense their main and only defense are either a threat pose or as everyone will imagine it will be bite...I find that there is really no end to learn more in this hobby so if you hate learning things constantly it really isn't for you...thanks for the good video I agreed with all the listing!

Do you or any other youtubers you associate with sell any slings. I have a shop nearby that sell’s them but I would love to buy some from the youtubers I enjoy watching and learning from. Thank you for all your knowledge and info you have on Ts and sharing, it helps tremendously. I currently have 15 myself and LOVE THEM. Been in the hobby for about 2 years now.

I think another good one is that males do not live as long as females, and some species can live for quite a long time, so it can be a shorter term commitment [few years] to long term [20+ years - my G. porteri is 27 years old now] =)
