From 1994 until John Denver's tragic death in 1997, Pete Huttlinger was his lead guitarist, accompanying him on world tours, recordings, TV specials and performances with major symphony orchestras. Pete was a good friend on guitar and also a fishing buddy at times. One highlight of my playing career was getting to play Rock Mountain High with my bandmates with Pete at my home concert. One of finest fingerstyle players ever. And one of finest persons too.

I ran into Pete in Franklin TN at The Red Pony restaurant. I had been emailing him back/forth after working on Late Winter Early Spring (lead) for some time. When I saw him leaving I ran over hollered "PETE, Hi, I'm David, the guy who figured out the lead to LWES that we've emailed back/forth" He said "Ah, finally glad to meet you" we chatted for a few minutes then off he went to play with, I think it was John Oats from Hall and Oats.
