Pete Rose is like a politician. His ability to interact and communicate is exceptional. It is just unfortunate that he has the character issues he has. His knowledge of baseball and love of the sport is clearly undeniable.

BTW, Dave was a pitcher with the White Sox and very good as he also played with the Pistons. In 1964 he decided to stick to basketball and was the Pistons player coach at age 24.

Stan was all class and the greatest ambassador the game had. Pete is now the greatest ambassador the game has, tough lacks a little of Stan's class. After what Rose has gone through, it would be real easy for him to be bitter about the game, yet his love for it is evident if you watch his recent interviews. It is a shame there is no place for him in the game.

It's my understanding that Stan Musial worked hard to present a squeaky-clean image. When he had to have a smoke, he never smoked out in the open and in front of fans (ala Keith Hernandez) but, he would go under the bleachers so that the kids never saw a professional baseball player smoking. Not sure if that's true, but the guy was an amazing player. Pete Rose was another amazing player. Two of the greatest here!
