For a while I have been my family's portrait photographer and I have always felt bored seeing the same emotion and face of an individual rather than seeing the person who wears the face. I have a lot to learn from studying Mr. Karsh. Absolutely wonderful video, Pete! "I try to photograph people's spirits and thoughts. I sometimes have another person making a child laugh, having their head just above and behind my head/camera. I just saw s video about shooting through a teleprompter while reflecting a video on it to get shots of disinterested kids. I think consent is important and I might play with the kids and show them my camera first to get them interested. Maybe let them take a picture first. Different strategies for different people.

I use the r5 and r5c. How do you shoot with a shutter release?

I just use the LCD screen to compose and press the shutter. They make wireless triggers too if you prefer and then there is the canon app but I find that to be unreliable.
