Peter's last show on Oz two days before he caught the last train for the coast March 9th. Hobos call it the Westbound.

Every time I hear Mr. Bergman's words of farewell I just cry. Listening to his show that day, it struck me as powerful and yet odd that he would have this in his show. Little did we know.

Breaks my heart everytime especially knowing he didn't get to see us all again. He left us with poignancy as expected. As only he could. The firesign theatre made me question everything. They changed my life at 13 years old and now I'm 50. My world is a better place because of them. I think you all understand. I am proud to have been able to work on The Duke of Madness motors DVD and book set among other FT stuff. I miss them. A lot

Thanks for everything, Peter. And I do mean everything. Were it not for you and your friends, there would probably be no Church of the SubGenius, and possibly no me at all. We only met once, but you were there when I needed you, long, long before that. I owe you big time. Catch you on the flip-flop...

Thank you Peter Bergman! Your genius, along with the genius of the four or five other guys, shaped my laughter for decades. It will remain a part of me until my demise, or at least until someone hits me over the head with this bottle of Champagne, sets the dial for 'forever,' and puts in three dimes. Until then; goodbye Nazi Goring...farewell Mudhead, Chump Threads, Clark Cable..

Woke up this morning from a dream state. Like so many people these daze, I turned to my eyePhone and the first thing that popped up was a KZfaq link to a podcast conversation between Sam Harris and Ricky Gervais on the meaning of dreams. Or perhaps I was dreaming of that? The KZfaq still frame was of Salvador Dolly’s “lobster telephone”. Which of coarse got me to thinking of FT and somehow I found myself here. How many? Three. You don't want to count the elevator boy, three or four? Imported cigars in the war room. Not insane. I guess it's back to the shadows again Dr. Memory.

I remember going places, sitting in crowds or small groups, and quoting one phrase, or replying to someone else's opening quip, and having others join in and feeling "so belonging". It was odd then - and it still is - "I'm a grown person - why am I needing to feel the warmth of Belonging?" And yet, Firesign quips can STILL bring a handful of strangers together into a Python-esque wink-wink nudge-nudge say-n-more's. We're all bozos on this bus, but in the next world, we're on our own

Hal Robbins--iconoclast & beneficent disturber of the status quo--played MARX & LENNON for me and my brother Ben when we were 16. And all I can say is "Thanks! Molte buen Amigos" The wisps of sanity that linger, like the fog at Drucker and 4th, are with me to a large degree Because of the skein of endlessly raveled bizarre & beautiful truth the boys shared with all of us. Love ya, Peter. Thanks for the fish! R. Blucher (neeaiiigh!)

Dear Pete, thanks for laughs! You made it okay to think the world a big arcade. It was a privilege to get to know you if only fleetingly, over the past 40 solar orbits. But hey man, you're in my MP3 player and you're not getting out til the war has been won. G'bless Peter. You're an inspiration of surreal wisdom. This is one bozo looking forward to the chance encounter on the funway! Lots of love. rc
