One of the highlights of my life was seeing Peter Frampton live in 2018 before his Finale Tour. It was a very small venue, about 350 people. I walked to the stage, which came to my knees to check out his pedal board, and his guitar tech starts talking to me and shows me his rack setup and gives me some guitar picks. Peter played awesome that night and his band was so good. I’ll never forget it.

I met Peter once at Apple where I was working in the early '70s. We had a well stocked kitchen on the third floor with an enormous fridge and anybody could help themselves for a snack. Peter came in when I was in there and wanted a cheese sandwich but he is not that tall and I remember he asked me if I could reach the cheese on the top shelf. There you go, a really important piece of rock history! But seriously yes, considering the number of so called rock stars that were always in and out of there he was one of the nice guys, 'Humble' turned out to be appropriate. Of course George was one of the best too.

Plus it was stolen while George was in LA doing some recording and met a guy who said I think I know who has it. Finally found him and it took George Harrison to offer him 2 Les Paul's before he agreed to give it back. Guy had walked into a Pawn Shop right after it was brought in and sold, then that guy walked in, paid for it & headed back to where he lived in Mexico with what turned out to be George's Red Les Paul...

Man how I wish I had a nice guitar like Peter has. I bought a squire telecastor thinline 70”a vibe from guitar center and man that guitar is the worst guitar I ever played. Very nice looking but too many things is wrong with it, very bum job They done with it . Brought it back 4 times and it still doesn’t play right, no matter how many times you tune it up and strum the strings, back out of tune. They cannot fix the intonation problem and the strings don’t match the magnet’s on the pick ups . Took my money and I’m stuck with a guitar I can’t play 😢. so now it’s just a wall piece.

But Im not gonna argue with anyone over who is the greatest guitarist ever,I heard beck, santana, clapton, prince these are all people rant and rave about but none will be like this guy and I will say he is one of very few who will play his style and I dont care what people listen to if you heard his melody on the guitar they listen to him and ask who it is.I have heard is work. Just listen to his signed sealed and delivered that was orginally done by Stevie Wonder.

We ended up in the piano bar at the Hilton and the tequilas were flowing. I remember David and Peter trying to play the theme from The Sting on the grand piano. David was under the piano on the floor, head facing up with arms and hands arched up so he could play the bass end. Peter was laying on top of the piano doing the treble end. Hilarious. They must have done it a few times because they actually got it right. Haha. Great stuff. Funny and very excellent guys. Big and very memorable evening for me.

Peter seems like a down to Earth guy. Not pretentious at all. If I could meet one guitar hero, it would be him.

I saw Peter Frampton in concert a few years ago. He put on a great show. He’s very personable and makes you feel like you are old friends. Quite a guy.

Great stories, when he started strumming Show Me the Way and Baby I Love Your Way it was so emotional! What cool stories all, and Jimi's Coral Sitar to boot!

The second album I had ever purchased was Frampton Comes Alive. The first being Sgt. Pepper's........sorry Peter. The first concert I had ever attended was in 1977, Day On The Green: Outlaws, Santana, Lynard Skinnyrd, and Peter Frampton ("I'm In You" tour). You can find the concert here in it's entirety! Peter has always been one of my favorite guitarist's (in my top three) of all time! He is an extraordinary player. Sure he can play fast. But what distinguishes him from most of his contemporaries (in my opinion), is that I find him to be one of the most "Lyrical" players I have ever heard (still is)! If you listen to his playing, it's not a flurry of notes thrown at you, like so many players do. Instead, he has always managed to give us something quite different, something quite lyrical and lovely that really stands out! He is a fine player that in my opinion does not get the recognition he deserves. Wait, I stand corrected. Videos such as this are starting to re-introduce the man to a new audience and at the same time, reminds us older fans why Comes Alive, was such a monster! We must also remember his work with Humble Pie which was fantastic, and his fine solo releases prior to ALIVE.. I was lucky enough to have attended the "Comes Alive" 35th anniversery tour in 2011, at the Warfield in San Francisco. What a show. He was there with his original bass player Stanley Sheldon. Sadly, we had lost both John Siomos and Bob Mayo ("Bob Mayo on the keyboards. Bob Mayo....."). However they were there in spirit. We also got the opportunity to see Peter's son as well. I want to say thank you to Peter for bringing so much joy into my life. Your music has always been there for me. As I write this comment, I pause toI look to the ceiling of my office, where there is the concert Tee from the 35th anniversery tour. I also have on my wall a framed autographed copy of "Frampton Forgets The Words" album. Oh and one last thing.... also pinned to my ceiling is a rather large 5ftx4ft poister. It is a little dusty and held together with lots of scotch tape. There are many holes on the corners where thumb tacks had always supported it. It is the tourbook from that 1977 concert which unfolds to reveal that iconic picture of Peter from the cover of "Comes Alive". I have had this since I was 12 years old when I purchased it on that day. It is one of my most prized possessions. Thanks again Peter! I do feel like you do!!!!!!!!

George Harrison is one of the best artists of all time (in my opinion). And the best slide guitarist of all time, if you don’t believe me listen to the “all things must pass” album.
