Great video! In future videos, could you edit in your club selection and approximate yardage on each hole? I think it would be really neat to see what club choices you make. Especially around the green.

Good effort on the short chip on the final hole, Rick; you went for it and it nearly paid off. Attacking during situations like that is a confident act, even if you're feeling down. It's the kind of thing to practice during friendly matches that can really pay off when you're looking for something big to happen in a more competitive situation.

Rick, enjoyed the Portugal series! Your swing looks fantastic! All that's missing is a positive mental approach when the pressure is on. It may not work for you, but I play my best when I stay in the moment and focus on process, not results. Cheers!

How do i become more consistent? I go to a golf range and I hit all of my clubs pure. However, when I get on the course I struggle with my strokes. I think it's the pressure of every shot counts and when I get to the range I'm more comfortable. I'm thinking about quitting the range and hitting the course more often. It is just the money aspect of it.
@3rdgroove
@3rdgroove 7 жыл бұрын
Try to play the course in your head on the range. Every shot counts. Go through your whole routine as you would on the course. And *aim at specific targets at the range* (flags, mounds, other balls) define fairways. Imagine the hole you play on the range and play it as if you were on the course. Example: Hole1 par 4: driver, 5 iron (pulled), 40 yard chip to the flag. Hole2 par 3: hybrid. Hole3 par 5: driver (duck hook), low punch shot 5 iron under the trees, 6 iron into the green. Hole4 par 4: driver (fade along the dog leg) 8 iron etc. You can play the whole course in 15-20 minutes that way. You will see which club/shot is working and which not. You also will ingrain your pre-shot routine. And when you go to the course it's a proper routine that you can rely on and be comfortable with. You also won't be surprised so much by what the course throws at you as will have "experienced" many different scenarios before.

@drewmistic9486
@drewmistic9486 7 жыл бұрын
I think that's part of it and this new putter seems to have made things worse in my opinion. Your wedge shots from 60-120 yards have also been a struggle since you made that chart...maybe getting a little to technical at the moment instead of using a little more feel. The big thing tho is to just keep practicing when you can mate. Cheers
@hurley7414
@hurley7414 7 жыл бұрын
agreed. i feel like you either need to practice so much that the 10-2, 9-3 bit is second nature, or just get the general feel of those clock hands in your practice swing, then dont think about it after that and just swing. for me personally i always tend to miss hit when i am thinking about clock hands during my actual shot. But your contact and lines have significantly improved since the swing change. Keep at it Rick!
@sehnaz1
@sehnaz1 7 жыл бұрын
I remember Dan telling you in a earlier video to keep the right elbow closer to your right hip when chipping. I don't think you are doing this and losing some control and feel. I have noticed your general play has improved since you made changes to your swing with Dan. Your driver and 3 wood are very straight. Great vlog as always.

i think it would be tough for you guys to shoot 78 80 in florida. Not sure if either of you have played here. The bermuda would be ricks nightmare. links is just seems very simple. Even your parkland courses are very forgiving. never realized my advantage to playing on bermuda designed by nicklaus, player, floyd, ross, mccumber every week. second shot golf course train you to hit on ropes to just break par. rick is so into his distance which is ok i guess for a full timer and pete is very inconsitant at the moment. i do love your coach pete i think your right side has a much better action to it. just my 2 cents AM

These vlogs are a much better length Rick. Anything from to 15-20 for parts 1 and 2, and 15-25 for part 3 is much more enjoyable because I don't feel like I have to skip anything (e.g. aimpoint). I also reckon these length of videos will be much more appetising for new viewers.

No problem. Really enjoy the vlogs either way so whether you stick to one particular length, or mix it up for different vlogs doesn't make much of a difference to me. Also, at the risk of being too 'critical', you and Pete are losing your zoom skills of recent (or camera issues) when it comes to capturing the ball land. Always find it interesting to see how a drive/approach reacts when it lands. Thanks for the videos though Rick, really good entertainment and well done to you for having the initiative to create the channel.
