I love this song! Always have, always will. My best friend put it on a special compilation tape for my 17th birthday. I don't have the tape anymore and my friend died in 2020 but I can still come back here and listen to this marvelous song.

Took a guy's beach trip 12 years ago. First night we decided to eat at a bonefish grill. They sat us right underneath one of the speakers.I heard the cello coming through, faintly, but it caught my attention. I opened the SoundHound app, and probably looked stupid as hell, standing up, with my phone over my head, trying to get as close to the music as I could. Then, that's when I learned the name of this gem of a song. I've never stopped loving it ever since and wondered how I've lived 27 years without knowing. Then I found out he covered a song by one of my favorite bands KMFDM. The song called "Today"

I remember being at a cool live music venue in SGF MO in the Fall of 1990, a DJ played this song right before the band came on, I literally ran to the DJ booth and said “who is this 😲 ?!?!” bought the CD the next day and I’ve loved this song ever since

Peter Murphy --- his eyes and stares are something else... Beyond this world when you look into them His voice is pure liquid gold. Dark, mysterious, sensual, deep, moving, one of a kind. The delivery of the vocals / lyrics like when he holds that wind lyric note.

@@Vino3437 I think that a lot of people just want to go back to the time when they were young because there was less going on in their lives. Unfortunately, this means they aren’t exploring new music like you. It’s not like people have forgot how to play instruments, express themselves through song, or make similar music to this. I’m 48 and I’m always on the search for something different, but, life is generally too busy so I know I am missing out. But that’s on me so I don’t complain about the “back in my day” nonsense. So enjoy your youth! It does get away from you…. Cheers

So true . I agree 100 % . There is an imbecile person , who has reported this song , and at least one more of Peter Murphy's songs , and the reason is , that this person thought that this song and the other ( Indigo eyes ) are about abuse against another person 🙄( . I would share these two songs on Facebook , but i couldn't , because of that ignorant person ). He or she , couldn't understand that the title " Cuts you up " is symbolism for what he ( Peter Murphy ) felt , when he struggled to get out of his addiction , and what the drugs did to him and his loved ones . My goodness what a moron .( The person that reported these melodies .)🤬😈🙄🙄
