fascinating man. He seemed to live his life running away from himself in the world (s) he created . HIs imagination must have been so strong it superseded reality for most of the time. Unfortunately, you cannot escape reality or yourself indefinitely.

Terrific interview. Peter always came alive when doing characters and impressions, you can just see how much he enjoys it.

The Goon Show. Pure anarchic genius.The closest any comedian has come close to its craziness, is possibly Billy Connolly or Robin Williams. I have some of the scripts and they are a joy to read, knowing the characters voices.

Peter had what I call "Michael Caine Syndrome": "If I don't work non-stop, I may never work again".

For me this is another side of him, just being a fairly relaxed, affable man having a lighthearted, almost completely conventional chat. His intelligence and his gift for provoking amusement are plain enough, but he gives little hint of being a profoundly unusual and original person with a complex and challenging character. Thanks for the upload.

He was so obsessed with gadgets, it would have been so interesting to hear his take on the internet. Amazing interview.

Sellers' own favourite. Tough call but he did mention my favourite... Trade Union Shop Steward Fred Kite my all time favourite among my many favourites. No end to this man's talent genius. A masterpiece portrayal in "I'm alright Jack". Over sixty years on and still very valid to this very day within the UK and the current Rail Transport Workers in the UK planning to grind the Nation to a standstill literally on more than one occasion. To quote Fred Kite. "Sacking someone for incompetence is victimisation". "I shall now withdraw and consult". Only in the UK :sigh: Those folks responsible for writing that wide variety of key lines in the film were also demonstrating a fine talent. Anyone who has not seen "I'm alright Jack" do so. You'll be in for a real treat seeing both Peter Sellers and the late great Terry Thomas at their rascally best. "What and absolute shower. Absolute shalwah!

It always blows my mind that he didn't think he was funny? He was naturally funny and imo just as funny as Monty Python.

This interview was as close to himself as you'll ever see.

Thin line between crazy and genius, he managed to teeter on the edge of both for good and bad. Brilliant comedian and actor when he got to show off his range. Side note: what's he fidgeting with at the start?

Nice to hear him paying tribute to Monty Python as they were all such huge fans of The Goons. Although John Cleese and Graham Chapman wrote for one of his films and I don't think it was a terribly happy experience!

Is that his comment about not being a fan of ‘the box’. As far as quality content really traditional TV has really only come into it so since the advent of streaming which has stripped content away from its traditional broadcast television shackles

This is a remarkable interview, as you do not see peter sellers trying to be funny, but being serious for once.....

There's no way that anyone could get away with telling that martian joke these days. Peter Sellers was giving a performance for this interview - as always. Entertaining all the same.
