I think if we'd gotten Guentzel at the trade deadline, Petey would be scoring in bushels right now. It's hard, when you're already struggling, to be on a line with two incredibly snakebitten players. Yes, his problens (did not start with the playoff but) started after the all star game, after the trade when they tried to find a spot for Lindholm (who now, finally, works really well) but they lost pettersson on it. Playing pettersson and Lindholm, with pettersson as center did not work, when trying to get Lindholm going. But now they should try with pettersson and Lindholm again, but with Lindholm as center instead. And bring back the Blueger line. Then they might get 3 good lines. And if moving down michieve (spelling?) and Höglander to the 4th line, they could even get all 4 good lines going (remember how much Höglander scored in the 4th line). And several good goalkeepers. And all their strong defensmen. Then Vancouver will be really difficult to beat.

No GM in their right mind would make such a trade but Alvin overestimated Lindholm’s ability when he gave up the farm for this player, and now EP is paying the price for this horrible trade.

Umm... he is being paid MILLIONS to play a childrens' game at an elite stellar franchise player level, and he could barely crack the fourth line on any other team in the playoffs, with the exception of Edmonton's bottom six. Where is the passion? Where is the speed? Where are the insane passes? What happened to the wicked wristers and one timers and breakaways and all the other stuff he did? Now the Canucks are going to pay him how much for how long???? A few years ago in the covid playoffs he played well, but something happened and he seems to be mentally done. Petey's wingers for most of the season were Kuzzy and Mikheyev. Those two couldn't buy a goal. Petey played 82 games, 34 goals, +20, averaged 20 min/game, 10 game winning goals, 2 OT goals, 89 points. He did that with 2 slugs on his wings for almost the whole season. That has got to be a grind. I think Petey might be exhausted from trying to make magic happen with wingers who can't put the puck in the net. Give him a sniper and a guy who can reliably dig out a puck on the walls and get it to Petey, his game will be fine. When was he at his best? With Miller and Besser. Blueger was great with Joshua and Garland. Why not put them back together & give Pettersson Lindholm and maybe Karlsson who has been okay on a call-up. FFS, anyone but Mikeyev and 'miscellaneous spare part'. Lindholm has been good. He might help Petey.

He played well last few minutes of the game and he had some good tape passes to mikheyev when he was there but hes super mid and can't score goals or win board battles or get open consistently. Wingers are def a problem but yes Petey should still been better earlier on especially on a PP with Miller / Boes when he has the puck need to see more stick handling and creating space
