Thinking about getting this feeder, after 8 months of using it what are your impressions?

@@DMuchnik It's great. I found that you don't really need the Wi-Fi version, so you can save yourself a few bucks. Just schedule it according to your cat's needs and you're set. It's hard to see yourself going back to serving every meal, honestly. Your cat shouldn't take too long to learn that every time it goes off, it's grub time.

@@jonathonE Hey, my cats and I love it. So much that I bought a second one for my master bedroom. The product is just amazing. Very high quality, you can buy D batteries and it keeps all the setting and stays working even when the power is out (which is a common thing where I live), keeps the food very fresh, it gives a window of time of about a week or more if you are feeding two cats, it looks very nice, the sound is minimal, after programming it there is no need to change any setting, I LOVE IT!

@@jonathonE I completely understand. Mine looks quite sturdy. My cats have not been able to get food out, neither take the thing down 😂 I put is in a corner and they just go to eat when they want or hear the little kibbles dropping. I cannot express how satisfied I am with this purchase. Since I have a couple of cats, waking up to feed the bunch is a hassle, especially at 5am. But with these feeders the cats have their own schedule and I only have to check that the bowl stays clean and the feeder stays full. 100% recommend. Just buy the D batteries in advance if you have power issues and be patient with programming it because it can "feel" complicated when it really isn't. Once you move beyond that part, the rest is beautiful.

Oooh thank you for this comment! My cat is on a food restriction diet atm due to some health issues we are monitoring. Fluctuating meal sizes would definitely be a big downside to this product.

We just purchased the Petlibro Granary model. You did a fantastic job describing different aspects of its function; however, there is one confusing function that had me baffled and was finally resolved through the manual instructions (not the small start-up instructions)--the "manual feeding" section. After the clock and feeding times are set, press the settings button to indicate you are done programming. If you decide to give some kibble for a snack or an additional dispersement, you must first push the unlock button on the left to allow the manual feed button to work. Once the snack is dispersed, then press the lock settings button on the right for 3 seconds to activate your previously chosen feeding times. Your settings and portions will not be affected--they were saved. I don't believe you mentioned having to unlock the screen first nor that you could use the unlock button to scroll through chosen setting to check or change your portions. You seemed to say that you had to redo all settings to change just one. Thank you for all your help. These are the few things not addressed, and I thought this comment may help others wondering why the manual feed is not working.

It comes with a 5V DC adapter, so you should be able to plug the USB type A into any adapter that works with your outlets. Sorry it took me so long to reply!

never mind - looks like the dispensing mechanism is top-down vs the PetSafe 24-cup automatic feeder which has a conveyor mechanism (which jams Ziwi Peak kibble). Placing an order and fingers crossed it works! my 5-portion automatic feeder has done well but washing the plastic tray every 4 days is not ideal... (my cat only eats dry food in the AM)

We plan to review a number of additional Petlibro products over the next year, and the new WiFi feeder may be one of them. I'll add it to the list. Thanks for stopping by!

The top does have a locking lid so I'd guess so. I have the granary auto feeder and the lid does lock well and is protected from insects

Yes! It has a really good seal; I can't imagine insects being able to get in there.

On their website it states "insect and poacher proof".

Hi Marisa, yes, it works best with smaller kibble, but as long as those chunks are smaller than a typical piece of dog kibble (maybe 1 - 1.25 cm in diameter), they should fit.

It's similar to a lot of other popular bowls but may be a smidge too small for some cats; any cat who seems to prefer wide, open bowls or even plates may be better off using something else.

About 2.5 teaspoons, but it's a volumetric measurement, so the number of grams will depend on the type of kibble you're using.

Lets see if that is also the case after a month. Funny is that both of my cats only use the robot now and completely ignore the two normal litter boxes. I hope that this is not only because the robot is new.

Yes, you'll have the same issue with the chute getting backed up if you try to dispense a larger portion.

The Granary feeder works best with small-to-medium-sized kibble, so larger dog kibble won't generally fit.

Ken, I know. I purchased a new microphone in hopes of correcting the issue, but it seems that the problem lies in the camera or another stage of the video production process. I'm just grateful that people have stuck around in spite of the consistent audio issues. Working on it.

The audio quality depends on the device. No audio problem when I'm watching on my phone but the sound is low when I'm watching on my laptop.

Not necessarily. It also works with batteries.
