New Model-Specific Versions of our T-Shirts available in our store!
www.teespring.com/stores/thesm...
In this special series, Afshin Behnia, founder of Petrolicious, has brought out three Alfa Romeos for Matt to drive through the Malibu hills. First up, his 1967 Duetto Spider 'driver,' a scruffy but sorted early version of the ubiquitous Alfa Spider. This model features a 1.6L carbureted engine, which was only offered in the 1966 and 1967 model years.
Editor's Note There is an audible vibration throughout the driving portion of this video - it is from the car's interior, not from the camera or the edit, and unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it.
Check out Petrolicious' pretty films at:

8:45 Not leaf springs, it is a live-axle with the differential in it, a T-bar connecting it to the floor withe coil springs and trailing arms at the wheels. Most models also had a stabilizer bar. Sort of an advanced/primitive set-up.

Proof that you don`t need a 7liter V8 to have fun ;) I love Alfa`s, especially old ones, old sports cars in general are so much nicer than the newer twice the weight and half the performance ones. You can actually feel the road, they`re nible and cheap to run. What`s not to like (apart from the italian syndrome: parts, you`re gonna need parts lol..

Hey Matt, a quick bit of advice-automotive carburetors have accelerator pumps which squirt fuel through the venturis, so if a carb'd car doesn't turn over right away, just give the gas pedal a couple of taps and it should fire right up. Also, higher altitude=thinner air which throws off the mixture. In a F.I. car, the ECU can correct for altitude changes, but a carb has to be manually adjusted and may even require re-jetting.

Beautiful Duetto. To be fair the Duetto considers all 66-69 Boat tail cars in the US , referred to as "Osso di Seppia" in Italy. The 1970-1994 Kamm tail , referred to as "Coda Tronca" is a more modern and sporty car. Especially once they switched from the Spica mechanical injection to Bosch injection the 80s. Super excited for the GTV. Wish it was a GTA but beggars cant be choosers. You should also try to find a Giulietta/Giulia in any configuration , a Montreal , a Giulia Berlina 1750/2000 and a GTV6. You wont be disappointed.
