ORBAYU [full movie] a climbing Odyssey with Nina Caprez and Cédric Lachat

In Spain, in the Naranjo de Bulnes sector of the Picos de Europa National Park hide the Orbayus... One is the characteristic mist, or thin fog, that often settles and hangs on the slopes, soaking every little thing all the way through. The other is a daunting climb. At 2000 meters elevation it winds upward for 500 more in thirteen stunning pitches, a crux at 8c and overwhelming exposure. In spring 2014, Cedric Lachat and Nina Caprez made their attempt where, on the Orbayu, success hinges on an intricate and complex balance of the psyche.

What a joy to watch it again after 6 years... Congrats to them both, that crux pitch looks just as heinous as it looks amazing. And thumbs up to whoever managed to stick Albeniz in the soundtrack, I hadn't noticed the first time.

My heart was PUMPING when Nina sent that most difficult pitch. This was easily in the top 3 climbing videos I've ever seen. The length of it was perfect. Almost a half hour. So good!

This movie had me on the edge of my seat. Rare is the movie that shows the truth behind climbing. It's 90% failure, 10% success. The greater the challenge the greater the reward. You 2 rock.

"Orbayu" signifie pluie fine dans le dialecte asturien. Le Naranjo de Bulnes aussi appelé "Picu Uriellu" est la montagne plus connue en Espagne. La montagne est située dans une région du nord appelé Asturias dont la capitale est Oviedo. !Puxa Asturies! (Vive les Asturies).

"Orbayu" c'est que le nom de la route ouverte par les frères Pou. Le nom du pic est "Picu Urriellu" en asturien (toponymie locale et originelle) et puis appelé "Naranjo de Bulnes" par les alpinistes espagnols au XIXe (moi je suis plutôt pour le respect de la toponymie locale). Je vois que vous confondez le terme de la route avec celui du pic.

Pico Urriellu, Naranjo de Bulnes....does not really matters. Everyone is welcome to our land. Orbayu is a name that always will transfer me to my land, Asturias.
