PEZ is both a toy and a candy, making it a perfect product for children. However it didn't start out that way. This video talks about the unusual origins and evolution of PEZ.

They should make that again as an adult version with nicotine containing PEZ, I'd "rock" that where ever I couldn't light up, AND It might be a way to "ween" people off of smoking (without the "cloud" that vaping makes). It could help put the original vison back on track!

Back in high school, a buddy of mine was trying to start a Pez-based religion. Because, Jesus had 12 disciples, Pez has 12 pieces in a sleeve; Jesus did the miracle of loaves and fishes, Pez is Spanish for "fish;" the Pez dispenser itself produces as if from nothing. I don't remember the rest of the dogma, unfortunately; I'm lapsed.

I know, nobody likes parenting advise or preachy comments from strangers, but you should be careful with that. Using candy as a incentive and reward could have negative consequences down the line. I'm not regurgitating stuff I read in some parenting book, but speak from personal experience, which is why I don't care about being an asshole by puking this diatribe over your shoes. I don't want others to have the issues I had when I was younger. My mother made the mistake of rewarding me for being nice during trips to the mall, by going to McDonalds afterwards. That trained me to associate McDonalds and fast food in general with being rewarded and a sense of accomplishment and made it much more appealing than it would have been otherwise. Then, when I was an adult, I used to "reward" myself by stuffing myself with that crap, eventually got fat from it and have been struggling with that for a long time. At times it pretty much was a past time and a hobby to gorge myself with fatty food from some drive-in. When going to see a movie with friends, I would look forward to eating fast food afterwards more, than I looked forward to the movie. I was lucky that I had a good metabolism and still somehow managed to stay slim through my 20s and early 30s and only past my 35. birthday I actually got fat. Somehow I kicked the habit since, more by just getting sick of it and it losing its luster though, than by force of will and discipline. Others aren't as lucky, of course.

@@kittykittybangbang9367 pez is fish when the animal is alive and swimming happily. Pescado Is both the verb for the action of fishing (pescar) and the name given to fishes once they're dead and ready for human consumption , also the way to refer to them in a dish (example in order: sopa de pescado, pescado seco, pescado crudo, pescado fresco: fish soup, dry or preserved fish, raw fish, fresh fish)

Okay here’s my pitch for a series “comparing industries” . Say there’s not enough runtime for one company so you compare the entire industry like say propane tanks they’re not that big but you can compare their share of the market and maybe do a light run over about their history

Hi, longtime Pez collector. Basically this video catered to me, plus a huge fan of the channel. I started collecting them when I was 10 in Cub Scouts and was getting my collecting badge. Fast forward 15 years and I have well over 7k. I have many of the dispensers featured in this video (full body Santa is my prized Pez.) I learned quite a bit from this video, incredible work.

I remember when I first saw a PEZ dispenser. It was in about 1962 when I was 8. Our neighbor was the local candy distributor, and his son, my age, asked me what I thought. I loved it. Don't remember what the "head" on the dispenser looked like, but I really liked the whole concept. I've bought a few of these over the years. And I REALLY like the candy. They're in the same league as Smarties or Sweetarts. My favorite dispenser is a San Francisco Giants dispenser where the "head" is a big baseball with the Giants logo on it.
