Love when they talk about over doing the changes you need to make! This teacher really knows his stuff and having gears just makes the lesson so much more insightful. I’ve actually been working on a lot of the same stuff they are talking about and I’ve been seeing a really good improvement in my swing because the misses are just soo much better. Keep up the good work Brodie!

First off thanks so much Brodie and Altus Performance for sharing this info it has been so helpful. In the spirit of pay-it-forward here are some time stamps for the juicy bits to *rewatch* before you go practice. 8:50 *P3-P4 breaking plane* (pool noodle effect) •Mechanics of butt breaking “wall” plane •Moving back into forward flexion 10:10 *Forward flexion → pelvic tilt* (how to drill this movement) •Push negative (backward) with hips, stay negative through downswing 19:08 *Hand path breakdown* •Move hands close to right thigh in follow through •Slide pelvis down the target line (toward target and stay negative) 23:00 *Elevator drill* (drill done slowly!) •Promotes butt back → to create pelvic tilt •Purpose to restore correct club head path 24:00 *Hand path to visualize push draw on downswing* •Over do it in practice swings

Would love more of this man, GEARS is so cool. I'm hoping my coach gets this at some point, I feel like "feels" can only get you so far when you're trying to perfect your swing. Obviously, you're working with a legendary pro here, but I've been taking lessons from one of George Gankcas' instructors, and his "squat & pivot move" has really helped me with early extension. I focus more on my knee movements which in turn effects the hips. Keep up the practice!

Superb lesson, forward flexion is key on the downswing, although it feels counter intuitive it actually allows room for the arms to drop down and inside correctly, the tush goes back, the hips clear and rotate and all good things happen. Cameron is a great teacher 👏👏👏👏👏

Thanks for the video, any chance if anyone with knowledge reads about this. How can I check my pelvis rotation without any equipment? For me you are not shallowing the golfclub, Brodie. First start with a steeper , more outside backswing with a loose grip. Then stop rushing the downswing, let the club fall down just before you start the forwardrotation. That also helped me getting rid of early extension. Love your conent Brodie, greetings from Munich Germany ;)

Early extension is not a fault. It doesn't affect strike because your motor systems will just simply adjust to the extension. Look at Mark Crossfield's video that he just did. Extension gives you power

Great vid, super work by you and Cameron. As a fellow struggler, but not in your class, I notice that your butt is about 5 inches beyond your heels at address. If it was only 2 inches or so then you could much more easily start the butt motion backwards in your back swing and then inertia (i.e. a body continues to move in the direction it is moving until another force acts on it, Newton’s 2nd? Law of Motion), would help you, i.e. if your butt moves back it is so much harder for it to then move toward the ball in the downswing because some force would have to act to reverse its direction. But if your butt is 5 inches behind your heels at address you really have to fight it to stop it coming forward whereas if it is only 2 inches you are not fighting the towards the ball move! I think some instructors call this 2 inch stance position tucking the pelvis underneath at address. I would guess that your weight at address would also be more forward in your feet and less on your heels so you could also much more easily get the butt back and the weight back into your right heel too. It also helps with the elevator action in the downswing. You must have a ton of ability to play as well as you do coping with an early extension, unbelievable, no stopping you when you get it right!!

Just an observation.... If you're struggling to get your hips "negative" because you keep going "positive", MOVE THE BALL CLOSER TO (more under) YOU so you don't have to reach out/away from you as much for it. In other words, reaching for the ball as you extend into contact is literally pulling your body forward. Moving the ball closer to you will allow you to sit back more, and stay over your base as you work thru contact. But what the hell do I know.
