For me, I think 'Situationships' arises when everyone is traumatized with the experience & idea of the pros & and cons of commitments. Like in terms of - financial stuff when dating; - deep feelings, being lovey-dovey from start then when things got messup they drift away; - have to show reassurance, like everytime; - not being able to casually socialize with other people without strict boundaries And so on... Like, people like the idea of Relationship in a surface level of being in love without the commitment part of it that draws the lines of boundaries and rules which is naturally applies in a serious commitmented relationship (which I think is a natural things/terms when your in a relationship - this why there's a difference with a girlfriend/boyfriend from a girl friend/ boy friend ) In Situationships no one is bound to do things for each other, everything comes in freedom to do things when they feel like it. Unlike in Relationships/Commitment/Labeled relationships, somehow well it depends for everyone, like they have that unwritten rules/things that each other is bound to do or not to do whether they sincerly like it or not, or whether they agrees to or not. 😁✌️
