Checkout the Phanteks Evolv Shift 2 Air, it's very similar in style but gets much better temps.

Nice, this is a great idea. Something I was thinking about the modular type cases, with configuration according to your needs.

That's a freaking cool sf case. Liking the multiple included cooling options. I think the cooling on the gpu side isn't optimal because of the missing holes. Keep up the great work you guys and stay safe.

Not my cup of tea but I'm glad we have a source of unique cases like this from a large manufacturer like Phanteks. So many of the small form factor cases out there are blighted by kickstarter campaigns and absurd waiting lists.

Great work as usual, Leo. I had a big mug of tea rady and was not disappointed. I would have liked to see you test air coolers but appreciate you have only so much time. I would also liked to have seen you also test temperatures with a RTX FE card given their different cooling structure; again, I appreciate your time constraints. There is, however, one test I felt was sorely lacking: this looks very much like a living room PC and as such the Family Acceptance Factor absolutely needs to be considered.

Those points were individually covered, provided you dig below the surface: 1) Pumping 129W though a cooler rated for 65W is entirely predictible. Testing with multiple CPUs would address that however 1a) time and 1b) the KitGuru audience loves POWER 2) I have never used a 30-series FE graphics card as I have never owned one. Dominic holds the KitGuru graphics samples for reviews and has revisited them many times as new games are released. I bought the Palit RTX 3080 as it is a reference PCB and supports a variety of GPU blocks. 3) The big one. I asked my wife what she thinks and she gave the verdict on the silver finish. Thankfully I had already given that aspect the mental thumbs down so we had complete agreement.

This is a lot better engineered than their last ITX case (P200A) which was just a slightly descaled mid-tower that was bad in so many ways.

If I were to get a new case now (might be ...), it would be a really hard decision between the A4-H2O (smaller than the smallest XT configuration, but more or less requires an AIO) and the XT. Advantage of the XT: I could just change from my current case, with air cooling, and at some point in the future switch to AIO and just XT-end to the bigger configuration. Even the biggest configuration is still smaller than my current NR200.

I think the CPU air cooler they expect you to go with (shown in marketing pictures) is the noctua l12s. 70mm in height, can cool basically any CPU on the market that isn't overclocked. I'm using one on a i9 10900F with power limits unlocked, at max load drawing 155w sustained after looping cinebench r23 for 10 minutes I see a peak temp of 88C with fan at 1500 rpm (70%). But in my actual day to day use, I only see around 65C peak from my use cases.
@KitGuruTech
@KitGuruTech 2 жыл бұрын
No doubt you are correct about the cooler - the specs claim it does a far better job than its size suggests ncc.noctua.at/coolers/NH-L12S-17/cpu/Intel/LGA%201200

@@KitGuruTech Especially considering if using an AiO in this case then the heat from the GPU will exhaust through the radiator, spiking temps further. Something that won't happen with an air cooler. So the temps might not even be that far off from each other. Which will be the way I plan on using this case when it finally releases.

Can the fans mount on top of the radiator? Doing this build in rgb for my daughter and was thinking rgb fans in pulse mode gleaming out of the top would look pretty sweet. Also planning on using hot pink or electric purple plastidip spray to accent the small pieces and the middle depressed strip portion on top.

You have 60mm clearance. Most fans are 25mm which is why the T30 fans use the extra chunky 30mm as their name

That is a very attactive little case. The aluminium covers would be fairly easy to paint, I suspect a few people might do that. But otherwise, given it would barely add to costs and there are certainly buyers out there who might be persuaded by different colour schemes, I wouldn't be surprised to see Phanteks add others in future.

You have 60mm clearance. The radiator is 27mm thick and the MP fans 25mm so swapping to T30 will be fine.

@@KitGuruTech I think the point was to swap out the stock fans from the AIO and replace them with the T30's, which move a greater volume of air.
