God he's getting so good. Nobody will probably believe this, but I pitched the bucket slide to him years ago, he's putting that to some damn good use.

I'm not one to compare drummers, but seeing all the Gordo spam on here has inspired me to comment. Phil is incredible. He plays a variety of tasty compositions with all kinds of ingredients. His drums have a voice of their own and really tell a story. Whereas Gordo is great, but only plays 16th-note-bass-snare all day--I don't even think I've ever heard him play a triplet.

Larry Wright is consistently credited as the original (and still the best and most famous) bucket drummer. Over the decades, Larry has appeared in numerous movies, music videos, television shows and commercials, and a Tony-award winning Broadway musical (Bring Da Noise Bring Da Funk) that was built around Larry Wright and his talents, and now you can check out Larry’s first and only album at itunes.apple.com/us/album/bucket-drums-street-musicians/id1059232658 with a band of musicians including RobOnBass and Lock and Adam Power, an album that received international critical acclaim, from Guitar for the Practicing Musician Magazine that described it as a "model of musicianship", Modern Drummer Magazine said “This album is a primer on how musicians might collaborate in a perfect world”, Bass Magazine (Japan) exclaimed “An unparalleled performance that will leave you awestruck, RobOnBass is a virtuoso on the bass”, Bass Frontiers Magazine offered “Robert Turley (a.k.a. RobOnBass) is a very gifted musician, the album features great cover tunes as well as some outstanding original compositions, every song is entertaining and strong”, Guitar World Magazine shouted “a jazz/hip hop fusion with heavy funky beats!”, and URB Magazine trumpeted “Innovative!”, and of the cover songs Bass Player Magazine wrote “Great arrangements of great songs”, and of the original songs, Guitar Player Magazine declared “Tough, Funky & Fluent…R.O.B.’s original compositions are very unusual and exciting,feature uncanny two-handed independence, and expand the bass’ scope”.

@Darksurfr10 жыл бұрын
I am sure his life is quite good. He gets to do this every day, entertain tourists, and make pretty good money. Some of these guys make an unfathomable amount of money for what they are doing. I just hope that the cameraman put in a # or a $
@mattjackson265510 жыл бұрын
I used to rake in anywhere between 40-100 dollars in 2 hours, and I'm sure this guy makes a bit more. It's enough to live if you do it every day. It's just scary when you have a bad week.
