Phil Collins is making a comeback after a self-imposed retirement. The music legend is taking his impressive catalog of classic hits on the road for his first tour in nearly 10 years. Collins joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss the inspiration behind his book title, "Not Dead Yet," his health and family.

I never understood why anyone was ever "sick" of Phil. I could listen to his music everyday and twice on Sundays and never tire of it.

I never understood either as I think he's supremely talented and underrated. On a two week family trip to france in the 90s, my Mum brought just one cassette tape - all Phil Collins and to this day we talk about the 'Genesis trip' and have fond memories of those songs. The last gig I went to see was Slipknot, the last festival I went to was Bloodstock with Slayer but in those private moments in my car, I crank the hell out of Easy Lover and I can't walk and it's guilt-free because it's quality music.

He is such a super man. I've always called him Cheeky man, due to a 20 minute tambourine solo during the Duke tour. Never forgotten the magic and memories he made

No matter how many positive, inspiring and funny things Phill shared on his book, the media will ALWAYS find and blow up the negative bits. Focus on the positives people, we all have enough problems as it is.

Love Phil's singing. His rhythm on drums is amazing! The first time I ever heard of Genesis, and Phil, was on 'And Then There Were Three', which, when listened to on headphones, was like a wonderful dreamy trip to somewhere in a far away English town. The sounds those three guys made was unlike anything I ever heard before and it still resonates a wonderful vibe with me in 2021. Cheers!

While I can understand Phil feeling guilty about his legendary music career preventing him from seeing his kids grow up, he should NEVER apologise for being so successful. The reason why all of his records sold in their millions and people literally flocked to see him perform 'Live' (either with Genesis or as a solo star) in sell out stadium rock gigs around the world for decades, is because he wrote great, timeless songs which his fans (like myself) absolutely loved and he always put on an uforgettable show for us. You should NEVER apologise for your huge success, Phil. Be justifiably proud of it instead.

You Phil Collins are a fantastic gentlemen 🎩. I even love your interviews. Don't give in to age. Health must be dealt with wether we like it or not. I owned 5 Business’s at one time. They were my passion in life. I am a professional makeup artist 🧑‍🎨. My back got very bad. Standing in 5-6 inch heels 12-14 hours a day was too much as I got older. Otherwise I would still be there. I started in Los Angeles, California. I even worked so hard that the company let me work in the Studio on Rodeo Drive. Not bad for a woman from a small town. Then I was good enough to get the highest award 🏆 in the company. I then was a Gold Medallion Studio. Life was wonderful in the spotlight. I miss it desperately. But my back could no longer stand it. I am in constant pain and stay that way. Bummer but I wouldn't change 1 minute of it. If you can hold on to your passion, if not you certainly can sing and all of us love ❤️ you. Take care mate....

Josue2018 The amazing fact is that for only four years, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford and Steve Hackett worked together in Genesis, producing four studio albums and a live album. Five super talented musicians who continue to produce fantastic music to this day.

I'm not in awe of you at all . You were not the heart of genesis, Steve Hackett was .his departure from genesis was a big disappoint to your loyal fans .I bought Duke and I'm going where is the guitar , Mike Rutherford's not up to the task .I guess that's why you later hired Daryl steurmer to play things like suppers ready and cinema show. I'm not one bit impressed with your solo career or Mike & the mechanics either. My stereo is too good to play any of your solo material, but I do play Hackett's genesis revisited .on behalf of all hardcore genesis that you left behind I don't want you to fade away, just disappear .
