Phil is inspired by the courage of a young woman attending his Gospel class, and a Zoom call leads Jase to a revelation he’s impatient to share. A newlywed couple found Jesus and each other at Jase’s Faith, Family, Freedom event, and Al offers evidence of a heavenly “seal” on every believer and what that means practically and figuratively. The guys discuss the creation of sin and who or what is ultimately responsible for its existence.
In this episode: Hebrews 4, verse 12; Hebrews 2, verse 19; Genesis 2, verse 9; Galatians 3, verses 26-29; James 3, verses 13-18; Ephesians 4, verses 25-28

Love how yall grow in the word. When I was a new Christian I had a pastor say something he heard which I still try to share. Sin takes you further than you want to go, sin keeps you longer than you want to stay & cost you more than you want to pay. I am so glad I walked away from sin, it was killing me, my family and my destiny.

I began to seek God about 10 years ago. I began studying the Bible about 8 years ago. I began watching the podcast the first time we went through Acts. I got to a point where I thought I had it figured out. Then, my 9 year old daughter asked me to help her read the book of John. Rather than tell her what I thought, I listened to what she thought and helped her with her questions. And I learned so much. The Bible is not something to b understood. God calls us to b disciplined learners. As men we like to take our stand on things, and we want to b right. I love that you guys are always in the word and always keep an open mind. When we stop being disciples, we stop being Christians.

I don't know if you are part of a church family or to attend a worship service, but if you find a place that also has a Bible study, that along with this podcast would help you grow even more. They attend Church of Christ. There are different types of Churches of Christ. Find one that has a Bible study. They normally have a morning Bible study before the worship service. Plus, some of them that are large will also have small life groups. These small life groups meet and study the Bible. There, you build relationships, and each share personal situations where you can find people who really care. It becomes your church family. If you go through hard times, these relationships come together and help you through good times and bad times.

@paulmelonas7263
@paulmelonas7263 13 күн бұрын
@@aliasmoneypenny Orthodoxy began on Pentecost. It was ordained by Jesus and empowered with the the Holy Spirit. The verbal teachings and traditions of the Apostles along with biblical teachings and traditions became the "liturgical" or common worship of all believers. That liturgy was passed on from generation to genertion through Apostolic succession. 1054+ years later the Bishop of Rome caused a scism in the Orthodox church and the "church of Rome" was separated from Orthodoxy. 500 years after that a German monk upset with the corrupt Roman church started another scism and Protestantism was born. For centuries after that Protestant / Roman Catholic civil wars occured that created more and more scisms until today we have so many Protestant groups that faith has become "cafateria Christianity" i.e. if you don't like this flavor try another flavor or if you don't like any of them then start your own. Meanwhile Orthodoxy remains what it was 2000+ years ago. The faith of the Apostles.

Love the podcast! Jase’s story about getting a ticket for not knowing that wearing a seatbelt improperly is a violation illustrates a great truth in the Bible. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse just like ignorance of God’s law is not an excuse either. Not knowing that if you drink too much and get drunk is a sin but do it anyway it’s still a sin. Once you realize something is a sin, you need to stop doing it and repent. Now you know Jase, pay the ticket and wear the seatbelt properly.

Never went to church but displayed the Bible. 🙄 There was a picture of Isaac tied to a rock, Abraham standing over him with a massive sword, & an angel hanging onto Abraham's arm. I was horrified. You sin because of your flesh . that’s where the temptation is ,the flesh. Your flesh is not redeemed and will not be. You’re gonna get a glorified body. Your spirit is the only thing that is redeemed . There is a war between the flesh and the spirit and whichever one you feed is the one who wins

I wish at the end that Al didn’t chose business over the meat of the word of God that Jase was feeding everyone, or the edification that Zach had. But, it is written, you can’t serve God and Mammon. What I perceived Al to do, seemed to be more about business than feeding sheep; cutting off the good word for the sake of a business model podcast. It’s not for me to judge another man’s servant, but it seemed to me that the service was not to edification. All those stops for commercial breaks are another example of what appears to be an issue here… it’s like you have a handful of grain to feed, but you’re feeding one grain at a time, on purpose because you get more money doing it that way, because it keeps the sheep from ever being truly fed. I think it’s a deceptive practice taught in most preacher schools/pastor academies: modeling sermons and lessons like a television show to slow-trickle the viewer and treating them (the flock) like a product. As if to gain is godliness. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

I just completely disagree with Jase's ramblings about the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. First he sort of gaslights the audience into thinking that what Adam and Eve said to themselves was, after eating of said tree, "Now I know all the rules." Jase hates rules, but sorry to tell him, we as Christians are under rules. Whether he likes that or not. If anyone disagress they have not even begun to read the NT. Even Paul gives rules to Gentiles about certain matters of behaviour, let alone our Lord Jesus. Paul through the Holy Spirit also gives RULES about how a local church is to conduct themselves, not just the individual but also the group collectively. But that is not my point. The story in Genesis is very very clear. Adam and Even knew no sin. They knew not what good was or evil. Satan comes along, who was the creator of sin, and tempted them both. Adam and Eve sinned, and then after eating of the tree their eyes were open to what good was and what evil was. The story is just that simple. Adam and Eve were not looking to "create" their own world, anymore than a 7 year old or whatever commits their first sin. They aren't looking to create their own world, rather they are wanting to experience it, just like Adam and Eve wanted to have "their eyes opened". Not create a world, but simply to experience the fun that most sin offers. Sin is literally missing the mark. It has nothing to do with creating anything. And to prove the point, when a follower of Christ stumbles and sins, they are not wanting to create their own world. They just simply miss the mark. They miss the RULE that God set before them. The RULE in the garden was to not eat of this tree. But they were tempted by the evil one, who had already himself, the devil, created sin. Sin did not come into the world because Adam and Eve wanted to create it. Sin was already created when Satan became jealous of God's love for humans and his desire to ascend to the throne. I don't know what Jase was on about on this one, other to say ..... Uh.....no. And don't get me started on the last podcast about how he gave a speech and was sick, and didn't even really know what he was saying, but he was a "spectator" and the Holy Spirit did all the work. This is the second or third time you have made such a claim. I know of only 13 men, who lived ~2000 years ago, who could make that claim, and to whom that power was given. Jase, you are not a robot, you are not a puppet of the Holy Spirit, and you most certainly are not an inspired writer or speaker. What you said was borderline blasphemy, and your study of what the Holy Spirit does in the life of a follower of Christ today needs a LOT more work.

Jase your ideas on the tree of G&E are wrong. The scripture clearly says they saw that they were naked. Meaning they were enlightened to a new shame. God "creates" morality and therefore sin when he issues the original command not to eat of that tree. By putting a line in the sand through that command he defines obedient and disobedient behavior. That definition of sin is the only "creation" sin has ever had. It is disobedience to God that was defined or "created" in that moment. The tree simple opened man's eyes to knowledge of God's rules for behavior, they were not meant to be reveled that way and without the knowledge of them we were living innocently in ignorance because again sin is disobedience. God had not chosen to give us those laws yet. We were now knowledgeable about our iniquity and we suffer the consequences of that disobedience which is separation from God ie spiritual death. What your new theology is saying is that we are creating sin. Which means we are now defining disobedience. That was not nor ever will be our role, nor was it Satan's when he lead heavens rebellion.
@GrahamBartle
@GrahamBartle 11 күн бұрын
Sorry that bit at the end drove me crazy as well. Are you proposing that things like greed doubt and betrayal are created by man? How did Eve have the capacity to disobey in the first place? She hadn't eaten from the tree. How could she have doubted God? She hadn't created the sin of doubt. How did Adam sin in his going along with it. Did the devil create sin for them? Where did he get it? If God created a creature that would/could create sin, what possible difference would that be from a God who created creatures that had sin flaws that needed to be overcome? Either way, your account of the tree allowing them to create sin has a timeline problem. The first sin was the choice to disobey God and eat the fruit. That cannot be a product of eating the fruit.
