I really liked Phil's last comment.. really shows how much they respect each other.. Great players both of them!
@jamesday74678 жыл бұрын
He wasn't saying it as a compliment though. He said the comment about Patrick having called him while bluffing to emphasise that he (Ivey) bluffs a lot. Literally just to show how he can play loose
@glennhagstedt7 жыл бұрын
He was saying it with humble in his voice, He is telling Patrik that he didn´t made a bad call, just with other words.
@2011blueman6 жыл бұрын
Not really, Ivey's last comment was intended to get him to continue making the same bad calls. It's a common thing to hear from a pro consoling a fish when the fish discusses his bad his play was. Ivey is a shark 24/7.
@olivierkepo5 жыл бұрын
He was saying that it wasn’t necessarily a bad call just because he lost. He definitely respects him.

Leggo my eggo talking about Patrick Antonius being a fish.. get the fuck outta here! Where can I watch you play ?

Watching it months ago, I was wondering what Patrik was thinking because he couldn't beat so many hands. Watching it then, his play in this hand seemed so amateur and awful; it was totally out of character. It makes a lot more sense now knowing that Patrik leveled himself due to the props and that there was "no way" Ivey held the case red Ace. I'm glad they made this clip; seems like a lot of people commenting here missed the point of it.

These guys are on a completely different level than the rest of the poker world. No Limit Hold 'Em is so boring to these guys, they have to play with all of these prop bets to make the game interesting for them. INSANE!
@tuckish10 жыл бұрын
Oh like A10 vs JJ on AAJ board wasn't hard/confusing enough for them, they also had 15k each card prop bets going on on the side to make things even more interesting… sickos. hahaha

The famous hand can be seen here: Phil Ivey VS Patrik Antonius - full house battle (2nd hand). I always wondered why Patrik was such a station in that hand. Now I understand it's because he knew Phil didn't have the Ad.

Sad to see them dumbing down the situation for the average pokerplayer and whatnot. Would love to see Phil or Patrick speak about a hand like they really think, balancing, player tendencies and representation like Galfond does in his videos.

negraunu said once that phil doesn't use all these statistical terms, doesn't mean he doesn't understand them ofc.

well Phil would never reveal his real thinking, very small numbers of people play him let alone play his stakes, so he can't reveal much

Naah they have played crazy hours together. It's more like yeah as you also know it was a bad decision but who ever truly knows. Like a sign of respect that whatever it could've been even if very unlikely. People have to Also take into account the televised aspect. More hero calls you make and win in them, more air-time, more you are asked back and they get like 1k an hour + sponsor money. So the laydown is much easier (quarantee) when it is not on top of the props and it being televised. So I'm just saying the hand/situation was kind screwing with head big time. Like you also think what IF it is a bluff afterall and I beat Ivey in this monster pot televised.. It is a Big deal. The biggest hero call there have been. Like people rag on Antonious since televised he have truly had some worst luck mixed in with hero calls that are loose and that has been mixed. Because again it is televised you make those not normal calls more often. Still in the end dude is one of the guys who have ever since he made his first 10k in poker just come upwards to this day. You cannot say that about at all that many.... Even the god Dwan everyone praises and partly for a reason, he have had so bad money management (which is part of the game) that the Singapore "triad" (some baad people) loaning isn't that far-fetched. Still owes to Multiple players from 20k to 100k and these are from yeears ago. Things he could have paid. So money management is a big part, not that many can keep it that stable + from right od the start of career. Have to do something Very right it the game. There is a reason Ivey respects the guy. Negreanu says he is a very smart player, some people just play differently when it's just them and he doesn't live in Vegas so getting invitations to televised things maybe requires a bit more in the table in a sense.

Can someone please explain how Phil won when Aces beat Jacks???
@andrewwatson85912 жыл бұрын
Patrick has 3 of a mind aces with a ten Phil has 3 jacks plus the 2 aces on board so a full house jacks full of aces. Full house beats 3 of a kind
@crupilad6 жыл бұрын
Ivey is winging most of this, in reality he didn't remember about the prop bet and just played the hand normal :))
@aleksisuuronen596920 күн бұрын
I don't think it was more so Remembering but if he Cared about them in the situation. I'm finnish and how it comes across to me is that he was thinking if Ivey was more like taking the props into account with his hand or not, if he is maybe trying to bluff For the props (and the pot-size got out of hand) or if he does have as Antonius said surely something he cannot beat. So it just wouldn't make sense he tought Ivey didn't At All Remember the props but does he take them into account with his betting. Could be he meant remember, but the whole explanation just tips it to the side of did phil care about them with his hand. Like have a trash hand and try to not pay the props by scaring Patrick away. I do think he just uses a misleading word of remember instead of say taking into account. Since I can notice he does sometimes use even with easier words kinda synonym that would have a better one but it is a harder one so he doesn't for not the best english. In this case remember is just bad and incorrect if it's what I'm thinking. Hard to 100% say.

johnnyeboy33 prop bets are a little confusing. Different stories. If flop was all black for Pat he wins 15k if flop was all red for ivey he wins 15k If flop is all one suit 15k If one of the hole cards is the middle card in flop another 15k pat won the blck flop plus middle card ace in flop and he had two black aces in flop to go along with his red ace to make 3 of a kind All together $60k for Pat after the flop and pot is only 27k at the time. Feel free to correct me if need be

Can someone explain the prop bet they had in layman's terms LOL?
@josephpope65718 жыл бұрын
They each choose combinations of cards before the game starts. When these combinations of cards appear on the flop, they a predetermined amount of money. In this case, one of the "props" was that Phil had all red cards, PA had black. If two or more red cards came on the flop, Phil won 5 grand and vise versa.
