First off, I had NO idea there was such an instrument as the "Mighty" Wurlitzer until 1 week ago yesterday. My mother is the church organist and I've seen her play the pipe organ but never knew there was a theater organ..let alone one like the Mighty Wurlitzer. I love it! Everyday since, I come home after working the night shift as a nurse and listen to these wonderfully sounding clips by Mr. Kelsell and other organists for a couple hours each time! Thank you for these clips!

For some reason the Wurlitzer in Phil's hands has a special kind of charm. I guess I'm not supposed to like it as a young(ish) chap, but I think it's a magic art and can't be allowed to die out. Long live the Wurlitzer and those who are so very talented to play it like this.

Hi mate I get a ribbing for enjoying Wurlitzer music as you say particularly in Phils hands , I think it's an art form if it's own and these guys are so talented it's like they are the whole band

Reminds me of when I was a kid, we used to go to a pizza place called "The Organ Grinder", that had an organ like this.

Mr Kelsall's arrangement of Waltz Two (Shostakovich) starts at just after 2.20, and he is playing it in D Minor. Shostakovich wrote it in C Minor. Mr Kelsall doesn't play the whole waltz, common for Medley work.

No-one can take it away that Phil K is so very talented, Ive tried to warm to the Wurlitzer sound over the years at Blackpool and just cant, you either love it or you dont. Sorry Phil, I prefer the Wersi sound. That said, you and Chris H did do a 'Paso' duet on both Organs and admittedly that was great to hear.

If it's of any consequence…. the REAL name of this piece is the "Nights of Gladness" …. not the Second Waltz! Just FYI….

Someone said this is called "Second Waltz"? When doing a google search for it, I only get Shastakovich's Second Waltz which is played in a minor key…. not like this one. Any other possible names or versions this could be called? It is a wonderful little Waltz indeed!

Sorry, as a Yank I can only relate this music to the stuff they play at baseball games! I like it though.
